But long before Rian Johnson put his dazzling and inventive movie on the big screen, Touchstone Pictures picked up the rights to a movie called "Gemini Man" way back in 1997. Originally pitched by "Lost" writer Darren Lemke and later re-written by a group that included Johnathan Hensleigh ("The Punisher"), the movie got another draft from writer David Benioff ("The 25th Hour," "Troy") a few years ago, and was poised to be a vehicle for Curtis Hanson with Jerry Bruckheimer producing. And while that didn't happen, somewhere along the way Joe Carnahan came knocking.
