The more things change, the more they stay the same. Or something like that. With Kathleen Kennedy hinting at a slightly more open book once "Star Wars: Episode VII" starts moving in earnest, so far most of the rumors about the new sequels have been centered on the old cast likely to return. And it seems in another department, Disney is sticking with the familiar rather than trying to shake up a formula that works.

Just when you thought you'd amassed all the "Star Wars" merchandise, here’s yet another collector’s item to get excited about. Perhaps one of the more celebrated aspects of “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” is composer John Williams’ epic score. When the original release of the soundtrack first came out, it actually wound up being certified platinum in the U.S. and Gold in the U.K. Now, the original soundtrack is getting a limited edition release on vinyl.

We haven't paid attention to the Grammys in years, mostly because it's irrelevant, these days we're barely familiar with half the nominees, and the show is usually pure tedium. (Don't even get us started on that Beach Boys tribute thing last year.) Yep, another Stephen Spielberg movie means another John Williams score, and the upcoming Oscar contender "Lincoln" will mark their 26th collaboration ("Duel" and "The Color Purple" being the only films in Spielberg's oeuvre the composer hasn't scored). And with the marketing campaign beginning to build up since the first official look at Daniel Day-Lewis in the lead role earlier this month, with a poster yesterday, now comes the full tracklist to the movie, which may serve as some kind of mild spoiler about just what moments in the president's life the movie will cover.

If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that Terry Gilliam is really, really grumpy. And or at least, very hilariously candid. Maybe it's the fact that he's constantly marginalized, besides having the oversized imagination and actor loyalty that would (you'd think) make him a big time Hollywood asset, or that every movie he's involved in seems to be an anguished, never-ending process that results in films as lackluster as "The Brothers Grimm" and "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus" (oof). While we haven't been able to depend on quality films (or indeed films at all) from him in the last couple of years, we can at least count on Gilliam shooting his mouth off about big time films and famous filmmakers, because, really, what can the establishment possibly do to him at this point?

While he may have dabbled in a number of genres, told a variety of stories, and balanced big blockbusters with thoughtful dramas, the one constant in the career of Steven Spielberg (Daddy-issue themes aside) has been John Williams. The composer has worked on 25 of the director's films (that includes the upcoming "War Horse" and "The Adventures Of Tintin"), only missing out on "Duel" and "The Color Purple" over their decades-long collaboration. So no shocker here, but Variety confirms that Williams will once again pair up with Spielberg to tackle the score for his dream project "Lincoln."

Craig Armstrong's 'In Time' Soundtrack Arrives 10/25; Hear Some Of John Williams' 'Tintin' Score

Details of two soundtracks coming at you in a second. The first is "In Time," the sci-fi picture directed by "Gattaca" filmmaker Andrew Niccol. Starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, Alex Pettyfer and Olivia Wilde. The cast is solid, but by the looks of various trailers, the jury is still out. Yes, Niccol engendered almost endless amounts of goodwill for the sci-fi pic "Gattaca," but that was more than 10 years ago. "S1m0ne" was ungood to say the least, and "Lord of War" was... well, there.
