Harry Dean Stanton Also JoinsEven at 64 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger is still capable of surprises -- and we're not just talking about bastard children. The action star's career has pretty much been one blockbuster movie after another to varying degrees of success but he's certainly never done something like "The Last Stand." A modestly budgeted quasi-western, with a gaggle of character actors in supporting roles, all in a film marking the Hollywood debut by a foreign filmmaker, in this case, “I Saw the Devil” helmer Kim Ji-woon. We're definitely curious and now that production is officially underway, a few more names have joined the genuinely random, sort of WTF cast.

As far as comedy team-ups go this is pretty inspiring, though we have to say, the pairing of Johnny Knoxville and Patton Oswalt is also kind of strange too.

With the April start date for the Farrelly Brothers' "The Three Stooges" getting closer and closer we presume some kind of casting news should be coming down any day now. But wait, wasn't it just announced that Johnny Knoxville set to play Moe? Turns out it was wrong.

Winkler and Matt Spicer Also Sell 'The First Man' To Paramount Starring Johnny KnoxvilleFledgling filmmaking duo, director/writer Max Winkler and producer/writer Matt Spicer might not be household names at the moment, but if the frequency with which their names keep appearing in the film trades continues, the up-and-coming duo are going to be a familiar force to be reckoned with. The two have their debut feature film, "Ceremony" (which Winkler wrote and directed, Spicer produced) coming to theaters on April 8th starring Uma Thurman and Michael Angarano, and two big name writing projects- "The Ornate Anatomy of Living Things" and "The Adventurer's Handbook" -- sold to studios, both with serious buzz surrounding them.

Hank Azaria, Will Sasso, Johnny Knoxville Also MentionedIt's now four years since the last film from one-time comedy titans The Farrelly Brothers. The duo dominated the genre in the 1990s, knocking out three bona-fide classics, "Dumb & Dumber," "Kingpin" and "There's Something About Mary," in quick succession, but their efforts in the last decade ranged from the genial ("Stuck On You," "Fever Pitch") to the unwatchable ("Shallow Hal," "The Heartbreak Kid"). Their latest project, the Owen Wilson/Jason Sudeikis marital comedy "Hall Pass," hits theaters on Friday (and by all accounts, isn't anywhere near a comeback), which finally clears the way for their longtime passion project: "The Three Stooges."

Not so fast. Earlier in the week, The Wrap reported that "Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg, "Jackass" co-founder Johnny Knoxville and an Australian comedian named Shane Jacobson were on the shortlist to lead Bobby and Peter Farrelly's long-gestating feature-length version of "The Three Stooges" film now that erstwhile principal leads Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benicio del Toro had moved on.

Considering it's supposed to start shooting in about two months, getting a cast together for the long gestating big screen version of "The Three Stooges" might be good idea. By now, its history has been told and re-told, but in short, at one point the project had a trio of high profile stars attached with Sean Penn as Larry, Jim Carrey as Curly and Benicio del Toro as Moe. Alas, the project was set up at MGM whose financial woes are old news by this point, and was eventually moved over to 20th Century Fox where it was given a clean slate and fast tracked with a March 14, 2011 start date penciled in. Well, it looks like the Farrelly Brothers are narrowing down their stooges.
