While the SXSW lineup was stacked this year, no film bowled over The Playlist team in Austin like "Bridesmaids." One of our seven favorite films from the festival, we called it "hilarious and heartfelt," adding that it “even touches upon some Mike Leigh-like class issues in its surprisingly weighty story.” Not too bad at all. And now, an international trailer for the film has arrived and once again, it delivers some big laughs.

While most people probably know Jon Hamm from “Mad Men,” (which this writer believes is currently the best show on TV), many know he’s also been quietly building a career in comedy. In addition to three excellent stints hosting “Saturday Night Live,” he’s also had a recurring role on “30 Rock” and has a supporting role in the upcoming comedy “Bridesmaids,” which our team just saw at SXSW and called “hilarious and heartfelt." Fans might also know he’s known to occasionally make low-key appearances at the UCB Theatre as well as on various comedy podcasts. Basically, he’s the real deal.

For months now we've been bombarded with trailers for Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch." These trailers have been elliptical, at least from a story point of view. Visually, they've been somewhat staggering – quick fire clips of attractive young girls in costumes that border on high-end fetish gear, battling all sorts of mythological or supernatural elements. They dive in between robots, zip underneath monstrous samurais, and face off against towering, fire-breathing dragons.

It's a few months since Zack Snyder was announced as the director of the Christopher Nolan-shepherded "Superman" reboot, and we've gone through various stages: denial, bargaining, anger, depression, and now, just about, acceptance. Still lots of depression, but we've accepted that we're going to be depressed about it. With production set to kick off in August, it can't be too long before the announcement of who will be playing the man in the cape, arrives.
