There’s no doubt that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have established themselves as a formidable comedic duo, as exemplified by their hit show “Key & Peele” which Comedy Central renewed for a fourth season earlier this year. Their success has lead to the duo being offered a couple of different projects over the past few months: they’re currently developing a feature film with Judd Apatow at Universal and they’re slated to appear as FBI agents in the upcoming FX drama “Fargo.” Now New Line Cinema hopes to get a piece of the Key & Peele action as they’re currently in talks with the duo about producing a “Police Academy” reboot.

Well, this might be disappointing to some. It was only one month ago when we heard that David O. Russell would be teaming up alongside “Erin Brockovich” screenwriter Susannah Grant for an ABC drama, tentatively titled “The Club.” Despite the fact that the show was already given a 13-episode order, it looks like David O. Russell will be dropping out of the project.
