As always, there will be no shortage of movies based on real life characters at Sundance. "Lovelace," "The Look Of Love," "Big Sur," "Kill Your Darlings" will be offering up cinematic tales based on true people, but perhaps the most high profile of the batch is "Jobs." Yes, it's the movie where Ashton Kutcher is playing pioneering (and late) founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. And it seems the advance word on this one right now, is mostly around Kutcher's uncanny likeness to the tech hero.

It's no secret that the '80s are back in a big way in Hollywood, and for proof look no further than the success of “The Expendables 2” and the countless remakes and reboots of Reagan-era franchises. That, however, doesn’t make it any less strange that a sequel to the 1988 Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito-starring comedy, “Twins,” is in the works with Eddie Murphy as a long-lost brother. The studio has already tapped a pair of writers to tackle the story of “Triplets.”

The quest to find a young adult book series that can easily be turned into a film franchise of “The Hunger Games” or “Twilight” proportions seems to be everlasting. One of the more recent attempts is currently coming together in the form of author Cassandra Clare’s “The Mortal Instruments” saga, with the first installment entitled “City of Bones” set to roll soon in front of cameras, and the cast is slowly shaping up. The film has lined up two more talented individuals in “The Hobbit” star Aidan Turner, who will be happily leaping from one epic franchise to another – along with “The Shield” regular and “Avatar” actress CCH Pounder. Turner will be filling the role of Luke Garroway in director Harald Zwart’s adaptation, while Pounder will assume to role of Madame Dorothea. Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower are the HAWT duo of this series, leaving Lena Heady, Jared Harris, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Durand and more to do the background work. Screen Gems will be releasing the film stateside in the late summer spot of August 13, 2013.

All it takes is one little film to bust down a taboo, and so it's seemingly been done with Steve McQueen's "Shame." The critically-acclaimed drama was a rare picture to tackle the question of sex addiction, and while it hasn't quite opened the floodgates, it's made it easier for other filmmakers to tackle the subject matter.

It may be hard to believe, but Ashton Kutcher is going to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming indie biopic "Jobs." We know the news of Kutcher's casting arrived on the heels of April Fool's day, but it's true and, if you haven't accepted that the co-star of "Dude, Where's My Car" is going to play the late Apple CEO, it's time to move on. That's exactly what director Joshua Michael Stevens ("Swing Vote") has been doing, adding a second cast member in "The Book of Mormon" actor Josh Gad.

Exactly a month ago today we were talking about James Franco taking the lead role in "The Game," the latest project from the writing and directing pair Brian Koppelman and David Levein (who also penned "Ocean's Thirteen" and "The Girlfriend Experience" for Steven Soderbergh). The film will be based on Neil Strauss' autobiographical bestseller which follows the author's experiences infiltrating the guys club world of pick-up artists. Franco will play Mystery, a sexual guru who teaches others how to transform from nerd to stud and use secret techniques to pick up women.

DreamWorks Animation have to be feeling pretty good these days. Coming off their creative highpoint to date with "How To Train Your Dragon," the company picked up two Oscar nominations last week for the solid (if uninspired) "Puss In Boots" and "Kung Fu Panda 2," while arch-rivals Pixar missed out, having dropped the ball for the first time with "Cars 2."

After what looks like a long run of one film or television cameo after another, Josh Gad's celebrated run as the geeky missionary in Trey Parker and Matt Stone's hit religious-satire Broadway musical "Book Of Mormon" seems to have caught the eye of casting agents.
