The Lonely Island
I can see the trailers and posters now: from the guys who brought you "Jizz In My Pants," "I Just Had Sex," "Jack Sparrow," "Motherlover," "I'm On A Boat" and "Lazy Sunday." And you know what? I'll be the first one in line for whatever they have cooking up.

Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Judd Apatow & J.J. Abrams Team Up To Save Film Stock
A couple of years ago, things were looking grim for Kodak. The legendary film company couldn't keep up with the digital age, and were on the brink of bankruptcy, but managed to bounce back last fall. While the company promised to be more contemporary in their approach going forward, they also said that film stock was part of their future as well. And a bunch of filmmakers teamed up to make sure the industry ensures that in an increasingly digital age, there is still room for good, old fashioned physical film stock.

While many have been happy unplugging their traditional cable to just stream stuff online, the way things are shaping up, it looks like we'll just be spending that money anyway on a variety of streaming services. With Netflix leading the pack, and Amazon making some big strides, Hulu now wants their own corner for original programming.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues
Yeah, we're aware of the date. Either way, "Anchorman" is a cash cow Paramount will keep squeezing the teats of, and if all this only serves to remind people that "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" is now on home video, well, mission accomplished.

A few years ago, it seemed we couldn't stop hearing about a new Pee-wee Herman movie, with both producer Judd Apatow and star Paul Reubens continually teasing about the brewing project. "I would give anything to tell you right this second the plot of this movie because I'm so excited about it and it's so phenomenal and you would laugh your asses off if I told you," Reubens teased at SXSW in 2011. "But I can't tell. I begged Judd Apatow to let me announce it here and I don't know why, but he doesn't want to do that yet."

Girls
As the third season gets ready to close out for "Girls," Lena Dunham's show has already made the kind of waves you might expect from a program that has been on the air twice as long. Right out of the gate, Dunham presented the world with a series that, among many other things, was unapologetic about sex, kinks and the human body no matter what shape it comes in (and we're not just talking Dunham's; Alex Karpovsky's bare ass as he grinded on Allison Williams is still seared in our memory). And while it seems there's no boundary that can't be crossed on cable, that's not necessarily true.

Brie Larson, Community
She’s had the success of “Short Term 12,” which put her on the map as a serious actress (one which many suggested was Oscar-worthy), and she showed her supporting mettle in “21 Jump Street” and “The Spectacular Now” plus a recent successful turn on “Community” (see the image above). And now actress Brie Larson is moving up the ranks and will join Judd Apatow’s next film, “Trainwreck.”

Girls
This weekend, the third season of "Girls" kicks off with two brand new episodes, and while you'll get our full recaps on Monday, we'll just say this: Lena Dunham hasn't missed a step. If you've been a fan of the show, you won't be disappointed, but it seems some folks still can't get their head around Dunham's unapologetic depictions of nudity and sex.

Judd Apatow
With 2015 already set to be utterly dominated by franchises, sequels and reboots -- "Insidious Chapter 3," "Fast & Furious 7," "Avengers: Age Of Ultron," "Mad Max: Fury Road," "Jurassic World," "The Fantastic Four," "Ted 2," "Terminator 5," "Bourne 5," "Hotel Transylvania 2," "Bond 24," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2," "Star Wars: Episode 7," "Kung Fu Panda 3," "Mission: Impossible 5" are all due -- is there any room for something original? Universal is banking on it.

At the end of the summer, news surfaced that Universal had snapped up a script by comedian Amy Schumer that she was writing as a star vehicle for herself, with Judd Apatow producing. And it was interesting, but not exactly monumental news, as Apatow often puts his weight behind rising comic talent (he's a producer on Lena Dunham's "Girls," for example). But it looks like that producing gig has turned into his next directorial project.
