Julie Delpy is about to fly to Greece, so she's making her last-minute arrangements. First she needs a dress -- and she only has fifteen minutes to shop. And then there's the weather -- will New York have any more of those insane storm clouds that could delay her flight? And finally, she arranges to pick up a prescription for some anti-anxiety pills -- not so she can take them, but so she can know that they're there; their mere presence wards off "major crazy stress...so I can sleep." Life has been so hectic, "I don't even have a minute to myself," the writer/director/actress confessed to the Playlist. "I can barely go to the bathroom! Don't worry," she laughed. "I can keep it in. I can squeeze!" [editor's note: FYI, later in this story, Delpy herself reveals the identity of the wickedly funny cameo in the film. If you haven't seen it, we suggest you proceed with caution; though knowing who it is beforehand likely won't spoil your enjoyment of this terrific film]

When reports surfaced earlier this year that the long-awaited sequel to Richard Linklater's "Before Sunrise"/"Before Sunset" films would shoot this summer, many were surprised at the announcement. A collaboration between Linklater and actors Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke, last we had all heard, the film was still in the conceptualizing/writing stage.

You can basically draw every neurotic, Jewish comic character on the big screen and small back to Woody Allen in some form or another. For decades, the comic legend has been bringing his brand of comedy to the big screen every year (except the times he dips into drama), and while these days he's mostly comfortable behind the camera, he does taking an acting role if and when the mood suits him. Of course, he's starring in his own "To Rome With Love" this summer, but when it comes to other director's works, he's a bit more choosy. This fall, he's star in John Turturro's "Fading Gigolo," but can he be convinced to take a role in other movie not of his own making?

An examination of neurosis and relationships, and an unlikely but very welcome sequel to "2 Days In Paris," Julie Delpy returns as writer, director and star of "2 Days In New York," a very funny followup to her sophomore film, and one that utilizes the fish-out-of-water scenario to its comedic advantage.

We just premiered the official U.S. poster last week and now the official U.S. trailer has arrived for Julie Delpy's "2 Days In New York." A direct (though very unlikely) sequel to the rather hysterical "2 Days In Paris" (an awesome examination of neurosis and relationships), "2 Days In New York," picks up with Delpy's anxious and disordered Marion character now living in Manhattan. Having broken up with Adam Goldberg's character in the first film, she now lives with her boyfriend Mingus (Chris Rock) and has a child from her first relationship. It gets much worse when her family from Paris arrives.

It's rare for two films as perfectly pitched and utterly delightful as "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset" to come along, but can Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy and Richard Linklater three-peat? That's going to be the big question as news of the proposed followup has once again reared its head, and should it actually turn out to be fact, we could be seeing it very soon.

It might sound like hyperbole, but it's true: writer, actress and director Julie Delpy deserves to be among the first names that come to mind in the comedy-of-manners canon, among the likes of Woody Allen, Whit Stillman and Noah Baumbach. An unlikely sequel to the already underrated "2 Days In Paris," Delpy's latest, "2 Days In New York," picks up with her hyper-neurotic Marion character who has broken up with Jack (Adam Goldberg from the first film) and now lives in New York with their child and her new American boyfriend Mingus (Chris Rock). But when her eccentric father (played by Albert Delpy, her real-life father), her sister Rose and an ex-boyfriend decide to come visit and stay in the couple's cramped New York apartment, their cultural and language barriers make for a hilarious clash of personalities and personal spaces.

Over the last decade or so, French star Julie Delpy has been a relatively rare presence on screen. Sure, there have been a few appearances -- Lasse Hallstrom's "The Hoax" and Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers" among them -- but for the most part, when she's starred in a film, it's been in pictures that she's written and directed, like "The Countess," "Le Skylab," "2 Days In Paris" and "2 Days In New York," the sequel which just premiered at Sundance.

Julie Delpy's become quite the renaissance woman in recent years. The French actress, discovered by Godard at the age of 14 before going into international stardom in "Europa Europa" and "Three Colors White," has worked principally in U.S. fare in the last decade-and-a-half, in films from "Broken Flowers" to, um, "An American Werewolf in Paris," but it's her behind-the-scenes achievements that are the most impressive.

Ethan Hawke Planning To Reunite With Richard Linklater & Julie Delpy To Write Third 'Before Sunrise' Film

Despite a brief flirtation with major stardom, Ethan Hawke has stayed relatively true to the independent scene with his relationship with fellow Texan Richard Linklater seemingly personifying this notion. The two have teamed up for no less than six films including "Waking Life," "Tape," "The Newton Boys," "Fast Food Nation" and, of course, "Before Sunrise" and its sequel "Before Sunset." While Hawke and Linklater also have their long-term project "Boyhood" in the works as well (more on that later), it looks like the two are at it again plotting a reunion with Julie Delpy for a third installement of the uber-popular 'Before...' series.
