Set in 1970s Texas, but stationed inside an authentic milieu that feels timeless and classic, David Lowery's second feature-length effort, "Ain't Them Bodies Saints," is the culmination of a filmmaker who has put in over a decade of work in the trenches as an editor, cinematographer, writer, electrical department hand and more (fun fact: he's also the editor of Shane Carruth's "Upstream Color"). The jack of all trades is not only fluent in several languages within the vocabulary of this medium, he clearly has an innate understanding of each. Lowery is the real deal and understands filmmaking, and this is abundantly clear in this searing, romantic crime drama and love story.

For a newcomer on the scene, David Lowery has it pretty damn good. "Ain't Them Bodies Saints," his directorial debut developed in the Sundance Labs, was announced earlier this year, but was said to still be seeking financing. But lo and behold, things have worked out smashingly, as its currently in front of cameras and has now added vet Keith Carradine and youngster Nate Parker to the highly promising cast which already includes Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster.

Keith Carradine & Treat Williams Also Said To Be InvolvedUpdate: According to AICN, this will be Quentin Tarantino's next directorial feature (though it will not have the title mentioned below) and moreover, Christoph Waltz is attached to star. As yet, nothing is official.
