Kill your darlings
When any filmmaker decides to chronicle a largely undocumented or unknown corner of history revolving around famous cultural figures, a question that can raise its head is: what's underneath the surface that compels the director to make the story?

Kill Your Darlings
Fueled by the wild rhythms of jazz music, driven by ideals to break the status quo and forever pushing the boundaries of literature and poetry (while blurring the lines between the two), the Beats transformed a generation. And their story continues to captivate, with a new light being shown on an interesting early chapter in their careers, in John Krokidas' "Kill Your Darlings." With the movie headed to theaters, we've got a pretty sweet prizepack and some runner up swag for some lucky readers.

Carrie, Chloe Moretz
Young people going wild in horrific and inspiring ways will feature in a couple of October movies that couldn't be more different. That said, there is that tenuous common theme that links them, and so we've rounded them up together for convenience's sake.

10 Films To See In October
You could be inclined to believe October is just like any other month, especially since there’s only one major horror movie set for wide release to scare your pants off on Halloween. While audiences have yet to show they're keen to see a movie about the Beat generation even with a star-laden cast ("On The Road"), you have to at least give the filmmakers behind "Kill Your Darlings" some due credit. Lining up Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg, "Boardwalk Empire" star Jack Huston as Jack Kerouac, Ben Foster as William Burroughs, Elizabeth Olsen as Edie Parker, and Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr—well, you have our attention. And now the first teaser trailer (kind of) is here to give you a taste of how it turned out.
