“America is not a young land; it is old and dirty and evil before the settlers, before the Indians. The evil is there waiting.” That's the William S. Burroughs quote that opens Jay Alaimo's “Chlorine” but not before we get a close-up of a moustached nose taking a bump of coke to the sounds of uplifting violins on the soundtrack. Quick flashes of some of the major characters clearly hating their lives appear in rapid succession and everything fades to white to reveal Burroughs' quote on evil. But thanks to what precedes and follows those ominously serious words, it's clear that the quote is only an additional ingredient to the stir-fry of energy that Alaimo's message is part of.

Greed and hubris is the fabric that spins many stories—just see this year's Best Picture nominees "The Wolf Of Wall Street" and "American Hustle"—with those two qualities serving as the dark undercurrent of ambition. They make for intriguing stories, and co-writer/director Jay Alaimo has one cooking in the upcoming "Chlorine."

John Krokidas is set to helm a script he's co-written with Austin Bunn titled "Kill Your Darlings" which is set to star Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg, Dane DeHaan as Lucien Carr, Elizabeth Olsen playing Edie Parker and Jack Huston as Kerouac.

With the film already being eyed for Halloween season release we suppose it's about time the cast started getting together for the Ghost House produced horror pic "Dibbuk Box." Last week, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast in the pic and now Deadline reports that "The Closer" star Kyra Sedgwick has come aboard. She and Morgan will play a divorced couple "whose youngest child becomes strangely attached to an antique wooden box purchased at a yard sale. The girl's behavior becomes erratic and her divorced parents get the carvings on the box deciphered and find the box contains a spirit bent on devouring its human host." So yeah, might want to rethink those trips to the flea market.
