Wild At Heart Laura Dern David Lynch
Having worked with David Lynch across three films—"Blue Velvet," "Wild At Heart" and his last movie, 2006's "Inland Empire"—Laura Dern perhaps knows a thing or two about the director's process. And particularly given that Lynch has shown little to no interest, at least publicly, about making another feature, the actress might be the next most logical person to ask if Lynch is going to make a movie again. And, it would appear that despite his ventures into art and music, Lynch may not have left the movies too far behind.

The Fault in Our Stars
You should probably not see "The Fault in Our Stars" with anyone you're trying to impress. You'll either end up a puffy, sniffling mess of tears, or you'll finish the movie dry-eyed and convince that person you're a psychopath. Those are the only two options. This drama is an outstanding entry in its sub-genre, sadly dominated to date largely by films like "Love Story" and Nicholas Sparks adaptations. Based on John Green's young adult novel, "The Fault in Our Stars" manages to transcend those films with solid direction from Josh Boone ("Stuck in Love"), a spot-on script from Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber ("The Spectacular Now"), near-perfect casting, deftly created characters and often hilarious dialogue that feels closer to vintage Cameron Crowe than Sparks.

One of the surprise hits of the year was this summer’s cheap Ethan Hawke-starring horror movie “The Purge,” and with the $3 million-budgeted film making nearly $90 million worldwide, you better believe Universal wants a re-up.

Jurassic Park
This week marks the 20th (!) anniversary of "Jurassic Park," Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the Michael Crichton best-seller that would go on to become (at the time) the highest grossing movie of all time and a true technological breakthrough that would influence the way movies are made and exhibited to this very day (it was the first movie with a fully digital theatrical soundtrack). The movie is so ingrained in the hearts and minds of a certain generation that the 3D rerelease felt redundant – there are some of us who could easily act out every moment from the movie from memory. It's hard to even imagine but there were several, wildly different variations on "Jurassic Park" that almost made it to the screen, and we're here to dig those up like a long forgotten mosquito inside chunk of amber, dust them off, use the blood from inside the mosquito, and resurrect these versions of "Jurassic Park." Welcome to the "Jurassic Park" you've never seen.
