Well, if Dito Montiel is an example of anything, it's of that famous old saying: when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. It was about a year and a half ago that the director endured savage reviews at Sundance for "The Son Of No One," his procedural starring a promising cast of Channing Tatum, Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche and more that ultimately wound up getting a cursory release before disappearing onto home video. But he's dusted himself off and gotten another film on the way, "Empire State," and the first two images of the film's stars, Liam Hemsworth and Dwayne Johnson, have emerged.

Lucas Till had a fairly successful 2011 featuring in both "Battle: Los Angeles" and "X-Men: First Class" before finding himself part of Park Chan-wook's English-language debut "Stoker" opposite names like Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode and Mia Wasikowska. With the latter film inching closer to an unveiling (maybe we'll find out tomorrow?), Till has joined another project which will see him star alongside veterans Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman as well as fellow newcomer Liam Hemsworth.

It was just over a week ago when director Robert Luketic revealed that, with the hesit flick "Brilliant" starring Gerard Butler a bit further off than he thought, he was now looking at two possibilities for his next film. One was a revenge thriller with Zhang Ziyi and the other was something with Liam Hemsworth. Well, one of them is moving forward, and it has a helluva cast.

Robert Luketic doesn't seem to inspire as much vitriol from fans that the likes of McG or Shawn Levy seem to, but looking at his back-catalogue his cinematic sins aren't inconsiderable. Maybe it's down to his first film, the really rather fun "Legally Blonde," but since then he's made "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!," "Monster in Law," "21" (which this writer must admit to having a soft spot for), and his latest two films have been the irredeemable "The Ugly Truth" and "Killers," both starring Katherine Heigl.

With (mostly) positive word running rampant for “The Hunger Games” all throughout the Twittersphere and reviews flooding in daily (including our own, which called it “thoughtful, thrilling populist entertainment that genuinely deserves to be a franchise”) it’s a wonder that Lionsgate would put any more effort into selling this picture that appears to be a surefire box office smash.

Instantly razing comparisons – qualitative especially -- to other female-friendly series such as “Twilight,” “The Hunger Games” is the first film in a long time that deserves Hollywood’s instant-franchise ambitions because it appeals to genre fans regardless of gender by crafting a story that’s both epic and intimate, spectacular and subtle.

If a trailer's going to bow on "Good Morning America," it feels like you're safe in making some assumptions on the content of that trailer. Something frothy, we would imagine, in the vein of "New Year's Eve" or "Eat Pray Love," perhaps. At the very most, something from the latest Disney film, bearing in mind that ABC is a subsidiary of Disney. Not on our shortlist? A violent, dystopian sci-fi film about children made to fight each other to the death for the benefit of the general public.

Wait a minute? Didn't we have a shortlist on this already? Sort of. A couple weeks back it was reported that Ben Foster, Paul Dano, Aaron Paul and Milo Ventimiglia were all going to be reading for the part of Bruce Willis' offspring in "A Good Day To Die Hard." Well, none of those guys survived except for the "Breaking Bad" star and he's got three people fighting him for the job, that he might not get anyway due to scheduling commitments for the AMC show.
