Anton Corbijn, Philip Seymour Hoffman, A-Most-Wanted-Man
On its own, Anton Corbijn’s “A Most Wanted Man,” based on the 2008 novel by John le Carré, is a taut, post-9/11 spy thriller about a government’s attempt to avert future terror attacks. But consider the events that transpired outside the film, and it morphs into a more substantial, sad, and definitive piece of work.

Anton Corbijn, Philip Seymour Hoffman, A-Most-Wanted-Man
Nearly six months on, and the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman still stings enormously. In part, it's being reminded of his immense talents in movies like "God's Pocket" and next week's "A Most Wanted Man," which were completed before his passing (both premiered at Sundance in January, mere weeks ahead of the actor's death, and are subsequently hitting theaters). And in part, it's because of knowing that the 46-year-old actor could have had so much good work ahead of him, had he lived.

Life Dane DeHaan Robert Pattinson
Here's some good news. While Anton Corbijn has generally taken his time between films—three years passed between "Control" and "The American," and it was four more until the forthcoming "A Most Wanted Man"—the filmmaker is already onto his next gig, currently in the midst of production in Canada on "Life" starring Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan. And yes, that's the first look at the pair above.

Jai Courtney, Kyle Reese, Terminator Genesis
The long national nightmare is finally over. Sort of. After other people like Nicholas Hoult and Garrett Hedlund passed on the part, Jai Courtney has landed the role of Kyle Reese in the "Terminator" reboot aka "Terminator 5" aka "Terminator: Genesis." Hooray. He'll join the returning Ah-nuld, Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke in the Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones," "Thor: The Dark World") directed movie, about which details are being kept under wraps for now.

Anton Corbijn, Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan
The mystical allure of James Dean continues from beyond the grave: Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan have signed up to star in "Life," which The Hollywood Reporter says is "the true story about the friendship between James Dean and Life magazine photographer Dennis Stock." DeHaan will play Dean and Pattinson will play Stock (sorry ladies). Noted photographer and director Anton Corbijn, whose last movie was the sorely underrated George Clooney thriller "The American," will direct. The film is being shopped in Toronto.

So remember that brief moment when it seemed like Anton Corbijn was going to walk away from making movies after his upcoming thriller "A Most Wanted Man?" Yeah, scratch that. While we wait for that picture, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Rachel McAdams, to drop, Corbijn is already moving on to this next venture and it's a return to the biopic format of his directorial debut "Control."
