Luke Cage Daredevil
When Marvel's Netflix shows were first announced last year, it was quickly became clear what their model would be. The shows would focus on smaller scale heroes —Daredevil, Powerman, Iron Fist, etc.— before culminating with a Defenders team-up mini-series. If that plan sounded a lot like the template Marvel used to get marquee characters into "The Avengers" film, that's because it was meant to. If you had any doubts that Marvel wouldn't fix what wasn't broke, an interview with Netflix honcho Ted Sarandos in Empire (via Latino Review),confirmed that his company's plan will follow the mould of the feature films.

Has the revolution begun? Netflix announced just a few days ago that they had delivered 2 billion hours of just streaming content in their fourth quarter this year. Before that, Netflix chief Ted Sarandos provoked the industry with a confrontational keynote speech about releasing films day-and-date on the streaming service and warning theater owners that they will "kill movies" if they continue to resist multi-platform distribution. A convenient, self-serving statement, he's since back pedaled away from those comments (after all, it’s Netflix who mostly benefits here).

Add one more to the pile. Quentin Tarantino's "what if?" abandoned projects list is long. Ideas that he once toyed with included more Elmore Leonard adaptations, the James Bond film “Casino Royale,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E,” an untitled '70s-like airplane/disaster movie and more (you can see a longer list in this old detailed feature we made back in the day).
