What Kind Of Batman Will Superman Face
This weekend at Comic-Con Warner Bros dropped a bombshell: instead of announcing a sequel to this summer's "Man of Steel" (or a full-on "Justice League" movie), they revealed they would instead be bringing a Batman/Superman team-up movie to the big screen. Once again overseen by the "Man of Steel" team of director Zack Snyder and writer David S. Goyer (with Christopher Nolan taking a distant executive producer role this time around) the movie will likely retain much of the "Man Of Steel" cast (including Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne), while folding in a presumably new Batman mythology. What they didn’t say was who would be putting on the cape and cowl. Let the speculation begin!

Review: 'Fast & Furious 6' Makes Cars Go Boom In A Mostly Satisfactory Way

Has there ever been a franchise like the "Fast & Furious?" Begun over ten years ago with a film most notable for its '50s-style B-movie title, "The Fast & The Furious," it was a modest sleeper hit. Before long the series saw its biggest draw, the potato-headed growl-monster Vin Diesel, exit the series before it really got going, leading to the Paul Walker solo outing "2 Fast 2 Furious." Unsurprisingly, the box office for that one took a hit, a trend that continued with the Walker-free third outing "The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift." But ever since the series has been on a constant upswing, with "Fast Five" making nearly half-a-billion dollars worldwide, and even winning some critical plaudits, at least for series veteran Justin Lin.

Over the past few days rumors have been flying wildly around the web that Universal, impressed with Rihanna's performance in "Battleship," were going to slot her in the villain role in the brewing "Fast & Furious 6." The reports originated from the U.K.'s The Sun paper -- a red flag if there ever was one -- and quickly spread like wildfire. We reached out to reps to see if this was accurate, but while they didn't offer a straight denial, from what we we gather, nothing was certain. And whether it was true or not that the singer was being courted, a much more reliable source is putting forth a much different name.

Since starting his acting career proper in 2003, Luke Evans has seemed to spend more time in period attire than in any other clothing: from “Clash of the Titans” to “Robin Hood” to “The Three Musketeers,” he’s repeatedly transformed himself into a muscular, mustachioed monolith of a man who is more comfortable in animal pelts than leather jackets. But even with several other projects in the pipeline which require him to start sentences with “ye olde…,” including “Immortals,” “The Raven,” and two “Hobbit” prequels, Evans insists that it’s just the scripts, and not the buckling swashes, that draw him to this series of anachronistic projects.

Benedict Cumberbatch To Voice Smaug The DragonOh hey there "The Hobbit," we nearly forgot about you. We don't mean to take the mega tentpole two-parter for granted, but with a production schedule that is stretching well over a year and with other things grabbing our attention from day to day, it's easy to forget sometimes that not only is this still moving, but that actors continue to board the project in roles as they are needed.

Currently in a tight neck-and-neck race with Roland Emmerich's "Anonymous" to be the stupidest movie of the fall, "The Three Musketeers," which sees "Resident Evil" director Paul W.S. Anderson cunningly reboot Alexandre Dumas' legendary characters for the 21st century by trying to make it look as much like "Resident Evil" as humanly possible, is looming on the release schedule. We've already seen one truly terrible trailer for the film, and now, with the film's October release date coming closer, Summit have released the first one-sheet for the film, via Yahoo.

The list of go-to names for big roles, particularly for male leads, is an ever-changing one. We ran down a list last year, but even in the few months since then, new names have come to the forefront, and some have jumped to the front of the queue. "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, for instance, who just locked down the title role opposite Kristen Stewart in "Snow White and the Huntsman," is a newbie, while his co-star in the forthcoming film, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" romantic lead Sam Clafin, not only bagged the prince part in the fairy tale, but also the lead in would-be-'Harry Potter'-replacement franchise "The Seventh Son," with Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.

Just a little bit of a history lesson before we begin: Danish auteur Nicolas Winding Refn had originally planned to shoot "Only God Forgives" before a little project called "Drive" with Ryan Gosling fell into his lap. And while he went off to shoot the upcoming Cannes-competing flick, "Only God Forgives" stayed on his radar, and last summer he said that not only did he still plan to make it, he would starting lensing once he was finished up with "Drive." More recently, composer Cliff Martinez -- who has scored "Drive" -- told us in an extensive interview that while he's tentatively talked to Refn about "Logan's Run," the director was planning another film in between. And it looks like Refn is sticking to that schedule and is beginning to round up a cast.
