The Fault In Our Stars
You have to hand it to Shailene Woodley. “Divergent” was not exactly a hit with the critics when it came out last month, far from it, but it’s managed to become a solid performer in the box office and has solidified Woodley’s status as a star. Studios have been desperate to replicate the type of success that “Twilight” and “The Hunger Games” have received over the past few years, but only “Divergent” has managed to come close to achieving big box office numbers. Clearly, Shailene Woodley is a big reason for the film’s success. And now, fans of the young actress will get to see her appear on the big screen once again in this summer’s “The Fault In Our Stars.”

Tommy
The actor/singer crossover is almost as old as the industry itself, with a mixed success rate. From Elvis Presley to Mick Jagger to David Bowie to Madonna to Will Oldham (though he was a child actor first), from the famous to the little-known, many have stepped both on the stage and in front of the camera. And now another acclaimed artist is attempting the same.

Don't let the indie-centric headline fool you. While "The Vow" soundtrack will make iPod toting hipsters happy with its tracklist, it reaches all the way for one of the biggest love songs of all time to kick things off. That's right, we're talking about Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)."

Listen, we know that talking about Oscar this early in the game is pretty foolish. That said, other bloggers/film sites either already have tentative lists going or wil be very soon -- in fact, this writer remembers being in Cannes last year with early word swarmed around France's "Of Gods And Men" as being an Oscar favorite. Well, that buzz never amounted to much but still, when the "O" word is uttered, you can't help but pay attention.
