The Cannes Film Festival is just around the corner and, as usual, clips from some of the prospective films are starting to make their way to the internet. One such film, which is premiering at the Directors’ Fortnight, is “Magic Magic.” Directed by Sebastian Silva (“The Maid”) and starring Michael Cera, Juno Temple, and Emily Browning, the film already made its North American debut at Sundance earlier this year.

The Swimmer Lynne Ramsay
Well, here's one name we didn't expect to figure so prominently at Cannes this year -- Alejandro Jodorowksy. The 84-year-old director will not only have his first feature in over twenty years unveiled, but he will also be the subject of a documentary that is sure to get cinephiles very, very excited.

Aside from a brief appearance in Mark Webber's "The End Of Love," it has been two long years since we've last seen Michael Cera on the big screen. Of course, that was in Edgar Wright's "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," and while 2013 will see him once take on the role that made him famous, that of George Michael Bluth in "Arrested Development," he's got two feature projects that will likely shake up his image. He's been hanging out a lot lately with "The Maid" director Sebastian Silva, and they've been productive. The comedy "Crystal Fairy" has already been slotted for the Sundance Film Festival, but now the other one is being called up, the much higher-profile "Magic Magic."

While Michael Cera will return to your computer in his most beloved role as George-Michael Bluth in the next season of "Arrested Development," he's always been eager to break out of that mold. And while "Youth In Revolt" was a (half) attempt to do that, his next effort will certainly find him in different waters. And with a different haircut.

Oh hey, remember just last month when Sony snapped up Sebastian Silva's thriller "Magic Magic" starring Michael Cera, Juno Temple, Emily Browning and Catalina Sandeno Moreno with a spring start in mind? Well, while that one is headed towards cameras later this spring, the "Arrested Development" actor reveals he's already got another movie with "The Maid" director in the can.

So, that moustache. We presume (hope) that Michael Cera is growing that disturbing looking thing for the now currently untitled "Magic Magic" and not for its, uh...fashionability. Either way, we're just glad to hear this project is moving forward, because it sounds promising.

Actress Stays Mum On 'The Dark Knight Rises,' But Says 'The Three Musketeers' "Fulfills A Childhood Fantasy"Youthful British actress Juno Temple has been turning heads for a few years now, in films from "Atonement" to Gregg Araki's "Kaboom," even coming out of the disastrous comedy "Year One" smelling of roses. We've had our eye on her for a while, but even we weren't prepared for how good she turned out to be in William Friedkin's "Killer Joe."

Now here's an interesting project that is newly on our radar thanks to Cannes. Just last week, we learned that Michael Cera would join "The Maid" director Sebastian Silva for a thriller called "Magic Magic." Variety reported yesterday that three lovely ladies -- Juno Temple, Emily Browning and Catalina Sandino Moreno -- will be on hand to work with him. All we know about the film so far is that a girl vacationing with her friends in Chile slowly starts to lose her mind. It's not been made clear who will be taking the lead role, but judging from the billing and her rising star status, it's more than likely going to be Temple.

A frequent though somewhat unfair criticism leveled at Michael Cera is that he always plays the same George Michael Bluth-esque role that made him popular in "Arrested Development." Although, those haters seemed to conveniently overlook that he side-stepped that persona with ease as the much more suave and badass Francois Dillinger in the underrated "Youth In Revolt." Well, no matter, because Cera's next gig is going to be straight 180-degree turn from anything you've seen in him in before.
