Picture Is Also A Surprisingly Funny, Touching Story About The Foibles Of Family; Bale Seems Oscar-Nom BoundThere are onscreen dramas that claim to be about family, but they never really involve the protagonist having to make difficult decisions. Often the family is too saintly, or too important, to ignore. Other times, the best route for the protagonist to follow is to form a surrogate family, as blood relatives appear untrustworthy or devious. Rarely does a film come along that respects its audience enough to present the clear conflicts and difficulties of being around the ones who love you. Whether it be their all-encompassing love, their lack of education, or your own stubborness, the bonds that define what a family means can become frayed. When you love someone, it takes more than a mirror to show you that you have the capacity to simultaneously be terrible.

We're kind of curious to hear what James Cameron thinks of this, but the upcoming Universal live action/animated hybrid comedy by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane has a lot riding on it. Starting with its reported $65 million budget. The figure is extraordinarily high for an R-rated comedy (remember, Paramount put the kibosh on "Anchorman 2" because they thought the $60 million budget was too high) but the filmmakers are making sure they're gonna spend the shit out of it.

While most early reviews have pegged David O. Russell's "The Fighter" as a mainstream crowd pleasing boxing fix, that hasn't stopped the marketing team behind the film to deliver some very clever teasers and trailers for the film. Back in October, an arty clip was debuted for audiences of "Mad Men" and now, with just over a week until the film hits, a new testosterone heavy spot has been unveiled.

Plan Is For Allen Hughes To Direct The week leading up to Thanksgiving is always a quiet one, and this week was no exception -- there's been very little news to go round. So thank the god of movie blogs for Mark Wahlberg, who seems to have caused about 75% of all news stories this week. He's not in "The Crow!" He is in David O. Russell's "Uncharted!" He thought "The Happening" was a giant piece of shit too! And, even on Turkey Day itself, the artist formerly known as the leader of the Funky Bunch has come through, giving details of a new project he's circling to MTV.

Actor Confirms That Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci Are In Talks, Will Play His Father & Uncle If you'd told us at the beginning of the year that 2010 would see David O. Russell sign on to an adaptation of the Playstation videogame "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," we'd have nodded politely, and then dismissed everything you had to say after that. But rumors emerged in the summer that Russell, fresh off his comeback film "The Fighter," was circling the project, and he finally signed on last month. Not long after, another crazy rumor surfaced -- that Russell had moved the globetrotting adventure, at least in part, to the world of New York antiques, and that he was seeking Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to star in the film.

So hey, remember last month when it was reported that Mark Wahlberg was being offered the lead in the upcoming "The Crow" reboot? Well as with most offer stories that seem too good to be true, it looks like the actor considered it and then wisely passed.

Mark Wahlberg Admits 'The Happening' SuckedLast month it was reported that M. Night Shyamalan was developing a new film, "One Thousand A.E." as a potential vehicle for newest pint sized box office wonder, Jaden Smith. Details were kept under wraps at the time with the only news about the project being that it wasn't written by Shyamalan (thank god) but was instead penned by Gary Whitta ("The Book Of Eli," doh!).

Having screened for critics, dropped some enticing trailers and now, and now with some more clips and pictures from the film landing online (here's the clip from last week in case you missed it), all we have left to do is watch the film that is definitely near the top of our list to catch before the end of year.

Mark Wahlberg May Be Interested As WellSo bear in mind, this is from Roger Friedman, the same guy who saw Tony Gilroy at a screening for "127 Hours" and spun a haphazard rumor that he wanted James Franco to lead "The Bourne Legacy."
