Susanne Bier To Direct Saoirse Ronan In 'Mary Queen Of Scots'

While we continue to wait for Susanne Bier's "Serena" — you remember, the Depression-era drama starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper that was quietly picked up by Magnolia at Cannes and seems poised for a 2014 release — it looks like the director is gearing up yet another project. You may recall that over a year ago it was announced that Saoirse Ronan was going to star in "Mary Queen Of Scots" (not to be confused with the film hitting TIFF)...and then not much else was heard. Well it looks like it has found a helmer in Bier.

Yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge presented their newly born baby boy to the world during a photo-call. If you didn't get enough of it, or if you are simply curious of knowing how members of a Royal family spend their time, you can treat yourself with the newly released trailer for the movie "Mary, Queen of Scots" based upon the real life of one of Great Britain's most tragic royal figures: Mary Stuart (1542-1587).

Saoirse Ronan is one of the more interesting young actors working right now, first turning heads in Joe Wright’s “Atonement” and impressing in films like Joe Wright's "Hanna" and Peter Weir’s “The Way Back,” and now joining yet another project, “Elizabeth” writer Michael Hirst’s “Mary Queen Of Scots.”
