While making the rounds for his Sundance drama "LUV," rapper/actor/chick magnet Common told Movieline (via Shadow & Act) that he's joined the cast of Louis Leterrier's awesome-sounding magician heist movie "Now You See Me." "I'm about to film this movie called 'Now You See Me,' which stars Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher and Michael Caine and Mark Ruffalo - I'd say it's an action movie, about these magicians," Common told Movieline. "It's dope." Dope indeed!

Bruno Ganz, Christopher Lee, Lena Olin, August Diehll & Jack Huston Also In CastFor a man with two Palme d'Ors and a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, we don't hear much from Danish filmmaker Bille August these days. The "Pelle the Conqueror" director has only made two films in the last decade, potboiler thriller "Return to Sender," with Aidan Quinn, which we had no idea existed, and Nelson Mandela biopic "Goodbye Bafana," which similarly disappeared without a trace. But he's got a Danish picture "The Passion of Marie" coming next year, and his name still clearly holds enough sway to get an impressive cast for his film after that.

Yes, Dior continues to pair great directors and beautiful leading ladies for spots to promote their various fragrances and clothing lines. This year has already seen a spot for Miss Dior Cherie starring Natalie Portman and directed by Sofia Coppola and Charlize Theron taking it off and putting it on in the Jean-Jacques Annaud directed J'Adore Dior ad. But perhaps no helmer has been busier lately for the famed fashion house than John Cameron Mitchell. He's already directed the short films Lady Grey London and Lady Grey Moscow with Marion Cotillard and now he's got a new spot with another new face on the label.

We definitely have a soft spot for Louis Leterrier, as far as action-led helmers go. Undeniably talented, he's more than proved his action chops on the first two "Transporter" films, and pulled off a solid superhero flick on "The Incredible Hulk." Unfortunately, his last film, "Clash of the Titans," while a big hit, suffered from shoddy 3D and was probably a script that shouldn't have gone before cameras in the first place.

One of the purest delights of this year's South by Southwest Film Festival was stumbling into Mike Mills' "Beginners," not knowing anything about it (this writer hadn't even seen its artful trailer) and being blown away by its mix of humor, sadness, manageable meet-cute twee and romanticism.

As big fans of music video veteran Mike Mills' debut feature "Thumbsucker," we've been keenly awaiting a sophomore film from the director ever since, and when that film, "Beginners," premiered at Toronto last year, the word was comfortingly strong. But even that didn't quite prepare us for the experience of actually seeing it -- when we caught up with it for ourselves at SXSW, it immediately became one of our favorite films of the year thus far; our review said "it makes you sigh and swoon in equal measure."
