Bad Boys
"Any time you can get Big Willie [Smith] to come out and talk about doing a third installment of a hot movie like 'Bad Boys,' you have to take notice. I met with Michael Bay and he said he's onboard too—so it's real," Martin Lawrence declared back in 2010. Clearly, it didn't happen, but Lawrence isn't wrong in saying that the project was/is "real." In 2009, Sony hired Peter Craig ("The Town") to pen a script but it seems the studio, still looking to get Will Smith and Lawrence back together, are looking for a fresh approach.

But for "Jessica Jones," they've taken another direction, though one that is certain to garner a bit more criticism and consternation from certain quarters.

Some 1980s genre pictures can be rewatched today, and feel as fresh and exciting as the day they were released: "The Thing," "Gremlins," "Predator," "Die Hard," "Back to the Future," "Robocop." With apologies to fans of the franchise, if there are such creatures, "Highlander" is not one of them. Shot like a Meat Loaf video, encumbered by one of the sillier mythologies out there, and rife with bad performances, it's possible that the affection for the original has only come about because the sequels and spin-offs were so awful.
