Summer movie season is here which also means rampant cross promotion crammed down as many unlikely avenues as possible. "Prometheus" is already teaming randomly with Verizon, "Battleship" has about a zillion tie-ins including one with Coca-Cola and now "Men In Black 3" is flexing its marketing muscle.

Since "Men In Black 3" is the continuation of a franchise that started in the '90s, it's no surprise that everything about the movie so far has felt ripped right out the decade. But perhaps no aspect has been more dated (or embarrassing) than the theme song by Pitbull. Continuing a trend that should have died a long time ago -- seriously, who does this anymore? -- the vapid rapper takes over for Will Smith, delivering the theme song for the movie or whatever.

After a difficult, fractured production that left many wondering if "Men In Black III" was gearing up to be a "Heaven's Gate"-style summer disaster, it seems everyone came through and put something together for the third and final chapter in the series. Or is it? With Sony rebooting "The Amazing Spider-Man" only five years after Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire's "Spider-Man 3" it's clear that in this day of do-overs and remakes, time is hardly an issue. And while this may be the last swing at the alien piñata for Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, the "Men In Black" franchise might still have a new life beyond the upcoming movie.

The summer movie season is only a few weeks away. Indeed, in some parts of the world, it's already underway. Due to the Euro 2012 football tournament, the rest of the world are getting several films, including "The Avengers" and "Prometheus" early, and many territories were unlucky enough to get "Battleship" in their multiplexes last week. But things kick off in the U.S. on May 4th with "The Avengers," with roughly one massive tentpole following every week after that.

A troubled production, a brutal soundtrack song by Pitbull and a couple of deflated trailers later, "Men In Black III" is headed to theaters with all the excitement of a wet blanket on a cold night. But when you round up a cast that includes Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Emma Thompson, Alice Eve and Bill Hader (among many others) it's easy to be a little curious, even if the time-jumping concept is a bit ridiculous.

Listen, the Will Smith songs for the first two "Men In Black" movies weren't great. In fact, there were pretty cornball terrible. Yet, their earnest wholesomeness and the fact that they were actually about the movie, made them oddly endearing in a strange way and when "Men In Black III" was first announced, we figured it was a no brainer that Big Willie would step back behind the mic. We were mistaken. Last week it was announced that the pretty awful singer/rapper/whatever Pitbull would be penning the song and now the results are here. You've been warned.

Sorry, Will Smith fans. While the Agent J has written two certifiable classic songs, "Men In Black," and "Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)," the latter song of which features TRÂ-Knox, sadly, Big Willie Style won't be recording a theme song for "Men In Black 3" or "MIB3," (curiously, the film seems to have shied away from the 'MIB3D' title as the 3D fad fades into the background and becomes the relative norm).

Well, since we're not 9 years old, we're not exactly too jazzed on "Men In Black III" -- the latest trailer makes it clear, this one is aiming straight for the kiddie set -- but there are a couple of reasons why we'll still be tuning in. First off, Bill Hader as Andy Warhol has our ticket sold, and the promise of Jemaine Clement weirding it up as the villain is just too good to pass up.
