Michelle Williams To Make Tentpole Debut As Good Witch Glinda In 'Oz The Great & Powerful'

Well, while we might roll our eyes slightly when it comes to the idea of "Oz The Great & Powerful," a prequel to classic "The Wizard of Oz," it's hard to deny that director Sam Raimi has landed a mightily impressive cast. The "Spider-Man" helmer might have lost Robert Downey Jr., who was originally intended for the lead role of Oscar Diggs (aka Oz), a conman who ends up being transported to the magical land seen in the 1939 Judy Garland musical, and becomes embroiled in a conflict between three witches, but he managed to replace him with newly anointed Oscar-nominee James Franco.

Darren Aronofsky & Mila Kunis Defend Natalie Portman In 'Black Swan' Dancing "Controversy"

Well, this is one of the lamer talking points around a movie to come down the line in the past little while. A "controversy" of sorts has popped up around "Black Swan" regarding just how much of the dancing Natalie Portman did in the film. Earlier this month, Portman’s fiancé and "Black Swan" choreographer Benjamin Millepied told the LA Times that the actress did 85% of the dancing witnessed in the film. But that didn't sit right with Sarah Lane, an American Ballet Theatre soloist who doubled for Portman and in some instances, had the actress' face digitally grafted onto hers Armie Hammer style.

Amy Adams Is The New Lois Lane In 'Superman'

After shacking up with Batman's brother in "The Fighter," Amy Adams is set to become Superman's dame. According to the L.A. Times, Zack Snyder has found his Lois Lane for the upcoming "Superman" project slated for a late 2012 release, and it's Oscar nominee Adams, who will step into the iconic workaholic high heels. If the rumors are to be believed (and not all of them are), Adams beat out less-pedigreed competition in Kristen Stewart, Jessica Biel, Rachel McAdams, Malin Ackerman, Dianna Agron, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis, Lindsay Lohan, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Abe Vigoda, Bristol Palin, Justin Bartha, Elizabeth Bathory, Ms. Pac-Man... rumors are rumors, we suppose.

A new trailer has landed for "Easy A" director Will Gluck's follow-up to his fantastic comedy vehicle that made launched Emma Stone's career into the stratosphere, and it wastes no time in giving up/ruining the goods. Cameos by Emma Stone and Andy Samberg are out of the way in the first 10 seconds, and hey, Woody Harrelson plays a gay dude! While we would've liked those surprises to have remained until we saw the film, we have to say, that we were still pretty charmed by this one and our optimism remains intact.

She will be taking the role of Theodora, a good witch whose advances are rebuffed by Franco's character. She subsequently decides to help her evil sister Evanora rule Oz. Olivia Wilde, Amy Adams, Kate Beckinsale, Keira Knightley and Rebecca Hall are among those being listed as contenders for the sister roles.
