'Mirror Mirror' Moves 2 Weeks Back To March 30th; New Look At Kristen Stewart In 'Snow White And The Huntsman'

Universal and Relativity spent a good part of last year in a pissing match over release dates for their respective Snow White films, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to the movies, and we'll soon see who emerges victorious. Well, sort of soon.

2012 is just a few days away, and there are a slew of new posters for films that will be released in the new year (assuming none of them switch over to The Weinstein Company, at which point, their release dates will be changed seven times before the film is inevitably dumped on Blu-ray. What up, “Shanghai”!).

Much of the cast of Steven Spielberg's new epic "War Horse" will be unrecognizable to mainstream American audiences (save for Emily Watson and David Thewlis) -- and that is by design. The director didn't want the distraction of recognizable people in his lead parts, so he instead plugged in a lot of up-and-comers, especially unknowns who had never acted before. And as The Playlist learned at the Sunday night premiere of "War Horse" at New York's Lincoln Center, based on their upcoming projects, they won't remain unknown much longer.

So, yes, there are two Snow White movies coming next year but rest assured weary moviegoer, they could not be more different. It was just a few days ago that we saw the first, surprisingly impressive trailer for "Snow White And The Huntsman" a darker, grittier take on the fairy tale and now we have the competition, "Mirror Mirror" from "Immortals" and "The Cell" director Tarsem. And yeah, it's...different.

With a release date about five months away, it's about time Tarsem's Snow White movie got a title. First known in early stages as "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White," then simply being that untitled movie that was irritating the hell out of Universal, Relativity have announced today that the film will now be called: "Mirror Mirror."
