5 Michael Fassbender Films You May Not Have Seen
Michael Fassbender has had a good run of it these past few years. It's a hot streak (one which saw him the recipient of the "staggering honor" that was Playlist Man of the Year 2011) that looks set to continue with the Irish/German actor moving between critically adored arthouse films and broad-appeal tentpoles with ease, often for directors who he's impressed before. Obviously, right now he can be seen reuniting with "Hunger" and "Shame" director Steve McQueen on the Oscar-tipped "12 Years A Slave," while this week also seems him back with "Prometheus" helmer Ridley Scott in the Cormac McCarthy-penned "The Counselor." Next year will again see him do the indie/tentpole one-two: in Lenny Abrahamson's "Frank" (the director previously cast Fassbender in a Mastercard commercial before either had made the real leap to features), before he returns as Magneto in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

You may have noticed that we're big fans of HBO's "Game of Thrones." It might have looked like some kind of swords and sorcery geekfest, but in fact, it turned out to be a rich, complex drama worthy of the best of the cable network's output, with an impeccable cast (including the Emmy-nominated Peter Dinklage, and some of the best child performances in recent memory). It's also been a solid-gold hit, and shows every sign of its cult growing as it moves into its currently-filming second season.

So, Marvel are done with Kenneth Branagh, or possibly Kenneth Branagh is done with Marvel: if you missed it earlier, "Thor 2" has been officially announced for a July 26, 2013 release date, with star Chris Hemsworth returning (which people seem to think is news: like all the superhero leads, the Australian actor signed an expansive multi-film contract that makes him Marvel's bitch for the next decade or so), but Branagh not sitting in the director's chair, although he may stay on a producing role of some kind.

'The Professionals' Film Adaptation Moving Ahead Without MarshallWe sort of don't get the fanboy approval handed over to Neil Marshall. He made one (overraetd) horror movie, "The Descent," and from there he immediately graduated into celebrated ranks of genre directors. But he hasn't done much since to deserve the praise. "Doomsday" and "Centurion" were both muddled messes, but that said, the director was recently courted for "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies." He didn't land the gig, but not to worry, he's got more than few options on his plate and he's recently revealed he's got a brand new script in the pipeline.

Neil Marshall No Longer Attached To DirectDoes "The Professionals" sound familiar? It might. Last spring, the project first cropped up with Neil Marshall set to direct but since then, word on the project has been quiet. But today, there is fresh life and some big, big names being tossed around as potential leads.
