Steven Knight On "Locke," Tom Hardy,
One of the chief pleasures of the Göteborg International Film Festival, aside from the charming Swedishness of it all (particularly fond of the helper whose novel take on the “switch off your f*cking phone” message was to implore us not to forget to turn our phones “back on, the second you leave”), is the quality time we get to spend with our interview subjects. One of or most enjoyable meetings this time out was with screenwriter Steven Knight, whose fascinating sophomore directorial outing “Locke,” (our review from Venice is here) played the festival. Here are the fruits of our wide-ranging conversation with the “Eastern Promises,” “Dirty Pretty Things” and “Peaky Blinders” writer (who also—random trivia—devised and originally pitched “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”), including his thoughts on writing for TV vs. film, his crowded upcoming slate and lots about “Locke” ...so we should probably give a little background.

With the “Entourage” movie officially “a go” and the ensemble of bros -- brosemble?-- locked up, it’s time to finalize the most important part of any possible “Entourage” movie, which hottie will be the object of Adrian Grenier’s affections? The Wrap reports that the unique thespian talents of Kate Upton are being sought for “the female lead.” If she lands the role it’ll be only her fourth big-screen appearance, following her casting earlier this year opposite Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann in “The Other Woman.”

While Sacha Gervasi has been trying for the longest time to get his "My Dinner With Hervé" — a biopic about "Fantasy Island" star Hervé Villechaize with Peter Dinklage and Dominic Cooper linked — off the ground, we can only imagine getting it financed in this climate would be tricky. And when we spoke to the "Anvil!" and "Hitchcock" director last year, he seemed uncertain about what would be next on his plate. Well, it looks like that question is now answered.

With Lisa Cholodenko's "The Kids Are All Right" now a couple of years in the rearview, she has yet to get behind the camera of her next feature. But it's not as if she's short of options. Among the projects she has been linked to in the past little while are the family film "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" with Steve Carell, the indie dramedy "The Abistence Teacher," and the outdoors drama "Wild." While those continue to percolate, she's lined up another pic that looks like a bit of a gear shift.
