Some very good news for fans of John Le Carré or just smart spy films in general that don't end with the hero booby trapping his house in an overly elaborate and kind of stupid plan to capture an international criminal: two books by the master of the genre are on their way to the big screen, and one of them is a sequel we thought might have been left for dead.

First announced last spring, "The Snowtown Murders" director Justin Kurzel's adaptation of John Le Carré's "Our Kind Of Traitor" has been moving slowly. There was a brief flick of life in November when it was reported that Mads Mikkelsen, Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain were rumored for roles. In case you weren't aware, Mads Mikkelsen is having a moment. The actor earned raves and a Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for his leading turn in Thomas Vinterberg's "The Hunt," and this weekend sees him give another strong performance in "A Royal Affair." And if that's not enough, he's going to be hitting arguably his biggest exposure outside of "Casino Royale" by taking a leading role in the buzzed about "Hannibal" on NBC. So, no surprise that he has his choice of projects.
