We've already covered these extensively in our Most Anticipated Films Of 2013 Part 1 and Part 2, and if the studios have done their job, you probably already know everything you need to know about them. But with the holidays over, the marketing machine is getting switched back on, and USA Today has dropped a few new images worth peering at from some movies that are hoping to be blockbuster-sized hits.

You may have forgotten, but Sam Raimi's "Oz The Great And Powerful" has been a long time coming. It actually started production way back in July 2011, meaning it will be just under two years before it hits theaters next spring. But it looks like that time and attention to detail have certainly paid off because if anything, the 3D- and effects-heavy movie looks pretty damn great. The murky, digitally undercooked world of Tim Burton's "Alice In Wonderland" looks nearly amateur by comparison.

This certainly isn't your grandma's Oz. With James Franco, 3D and a bunch of monkeys, the yellow brick road has been redone, for better or worse, in Sam Raimi's upcoming "Oz The Great And Powerful." Whether or not it all comes together remains to be seen, but if anything, it should look spectacular.

It's taken a while, especially given that the film comes out about four months from now, but some proper looks at James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz in Sam Raimi's "Oz The Great And Powerful" are here. And yes, another look at a monkey.

If the "World War Z" teaser poster was perhaps the low point of studio laziness, then this new one sheet for "Oz The Great And Powerful" is what happens when a marketing department has no idea what they're selling. Or they consult someone on DeviantArt to do some graphic design work for them. Because seriously, WTF.

Besides a trailer over the summer, things have been pretty quiet around Sam Raimi's "Oz The Great And Powerful," but with the spring release date now approaching, Disney are starting to get the marketing ball rolling, and to kick it off, they've unveiled the first of three posters for the movie.

While the trailer for Sam Raimi's revisionist fairy tale "Oz: The Great and Powerful" has split most folks down the middle, there's no denying that the director has a huge vision for his yellow brick road and the fabled story, even if that means tossing in some flying baboons.

Well, Comic-Con is done for another year. The San Diego Conference Center is currently getting a thorough hosing down, hungover cos-players have done their awkward walks of shame, and film press are returning to their various corners of the world longing, like ourselves, to watch and write about something difficult, European and subtitled.

So yesterday brought the first big reveal at Comic-Con, with attendees getting footage from Sam Raimi's "Oz The Great And The Powerful," and the rest of us getting a trailer shortly after the Hall H presentation ended. And the feedback so far? Mixed to say the least. And while the movie is playing off the mythology of L. Frank Baum's "Wizard Of Oz" -- at least far enough away from the original to stay out of legal trouble from MGM -- and as a result, it looks like two familiar characters have been dumped from Raimi's movie in exchange for...some primates.

Comic-Con kicked off in full force today, and you don't have to be in San Diego to get the goodies. Not long after they showed off a sizzle reel to the crowd in Hall H, Disney went ahead and dumped the first trailer for "Oz The Great And Powerful" online, and yeah, it's actually pretty impressive.
