Actors don't come as talented or respected as Djimon Hounsou. The thesp has come a long way from popping up in Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" video, breaking out in Jim Sheridan's "In America," and lining up a diverse array of projects from blockbusters like "The Island" and "Constantine" to more dramatic fare like "Blood Diamond" and "The Tempest" and in the process, he's snagged himself two Academy Award nominations. While his most recent efforts seem to be in dodgy looking international pics like "White Elephant" and "Special Forces," the actor is ready to take on a pretty intriguing role in what is set to be a pretty ambitious literary adaptation.

Say hello to Benjamin Walker because, even though he may not be a household name just yet, he's certainly well on his way. The actor who featured in small roles in films like "Flags of Our Fathers" and "Kinsey" got a major career boost, snagging the lead in Timur Bekmambetov's forthcoming "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," launching him onto the Hollywood radar. He was among the many early candidates for "The Bourne Legacy," and while he won't be flexing his muscle in that franchise, it's not a big deal, because he's just bagged a major tentpole.

Cosplay outfits are headed to the dry cleaner and weary geeks are heading bleary eyed onto planes back to their homes around the world, and thus wraps another Comic-Con, but with the deluge of news and bits and pieces of info, stories from San Diego will continue over the next day or so. While the financial impact of studios bringing their wares to Comic-Con is still debatable, it's undeniable that these few days in California are quickest way to get at least some (fleeting) attention on new projects. And thus, we have two more peeks at some big projects on the horizon.

The idea of adapting Milton's 17th century classic work "Paradise Lost" holds pretty much zero appeal for us, particularly when the script seems have been cobbled together by a committee of writers with Stuart Hazeldine, Byron Willinger, Philip de Blasi, Lawrence Kasdan and Ryan Condal all having taken their pens to the screenplay throughout the development process. However, it will have Bradley Cooper playing the devil which should be interesting at least. First announced last fall and moving slowly but steadily ever since, with Cooper talking to Charlie Rose about how he was cast in the movie back in May, everything is now officially moving forward.

Unaware that the concept seems to be an Onion headline come to life, Bradley Cooper is eyeing the role of Lucifer in a big budget 3D adaptation of "Paradise Lost" according to Variety. Take a second, and let that sink in. A big budget, 3D adaptation of "Paradise Lost." With Bradley Cooper. Got it? Ok, great. Great pains are being made to stress that negotiations are not yet underway, but that apparently Cooper is chomping at the bit for the chance to star in what deserves to be the biggest cinematic punchline of the next couple of years.
