Rumors have been quiet recently surrounding "Star Wars: Episode 7," but once the press gauntlet begins soon for "Star Trek Into Darkness," and J.J. Abrams gets inevitably grilled about his plans, we'll have plenty more updates. But until then, leave it to Patton Oswalt -- who, as fans know, is a man who knows his way around the "Star Wars" universe -- to awesomely and hilariously weigh in on 'Episode 7' with a nearly genius, 8-minute-long outtake from "Parks and Recreation."

Until recently, "Parks & Recreation" have been modest with their guest stars, forgoing the "30 Rock" approach of just getting famous people to show, and instead bringing on collaborators that generally elevate the proceedings. For example: Megan Mulally and Patricia Clarkson as Ron Swanson's ex-wives, Detlef Schrempf as himself, Ben Schwartz as Jean-Ralphio and Andy Samberg as the loud Carl. And that careful approach seems to be continuing, as the show has lined up another great guest.

As you may know by now, there’s there are some pretty big fans of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” here at The Playlist, so please ignore us while we excitedly exclaim, “DAYUM Jerry, your WIFE is Christie Brinkley?” That’s Pawnee’s favorite person to pick on, Jerry Gergich (Jim O’Heir), and he has scored himself a pretty nice beau in the former model and Clark Griswold heartthrob Brinkley. EW reports that Jerry’s never-before-seen spouse Gayle, whom he’d apparently kill for a Klondike Bar, will finally be making an appearance – we suppose that explains Jerry’s beautiful daughter Millicent. The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model is certainly an odd pairing for Jerry, but then again, we did find out he was, um, packing below the waist a little while back, so we’ll wait and see. JERRY’S FAULT!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, "The Dark Knight Rises", blah blah blah. Friday might be the day that many movie-watchers have been waiting for for four years, but tomorrow sees one of the biggest points of the year for watchers of the small screen; namely, the announcement of the Emmy nominations.

Upfronts, wherein the networks reveal their programming for the TV season to come, take place next week, and, as such, it's the time of  year when invested fans start to bite their nails about their favorite low-rated shows: with many new pilots being ordered to series, the scheduling slots seem to grow fewer and fewer. And no fans have been more nervous than those of NBC's low-rated, but critically-acclaimed Thursday night comedy block.

To fill in for those of you who haven't watched "Parks and Recreation" (and really, you're running out of excuses at this point -- we did call it the best thing on television earlier in the year), the show's break-out character is Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), the libertarian, meat-loving head of the titular government department in Pawnee, Indiana. The character has two ex-wives, both named Tammy (also the name of his mother), but, to date, we've only met the second, a fearsome librarian played by Offerman's real life spouse Megan Mullally, whose presence has caused some of the show's greatest moments to date.
