With Over 20 Zombie-Related Films In Production In Hollywood, Humanizing The Undead Appears To Be The Next TrendSick of bloodsuckers and woe-is-me vampire tales? Inundated by the genre, its addiction and immortality themes that played out in "Twilight" and that are ubiquitous in TV on "True Blood," "The Vampire Diaries" and myriad other movies and episodic shows? While vampires and the goth aesthetic that surrounds them have certainly became mainstream, the mythic tales aren't likely going anywhere anytime soon, but a new monster genre may be fighting for creature hegemony on screen in the next few years.

Screenwriters Update Status On 'Deadpool' & 'Zombieland 2'If you thought "Cowboys & Aliens" was a weird and disparate nuts and gum-like concept, well you haven't seen nuthin' yet. "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick -- quickly being pegged as the go-to guys for anything, weird, irreverent and out there -- have been tapped to write an adaptation of the comic, "Cowboy Ninja Viking" by Disney. Or rather Disney has picked up the pitch based on a graphic novel by AJ Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, published last year by Image Comics.
