Peaky Blinders
As you get ready to bid "Boardwalk Empire" farewell this fall, there's another period based gangster drama that could fill the void quite nicely. Getting ready to kick off its second season, BBC's "Peaky Blinders" is coming, and with a big star to boot: Tom Hardy. He'll be joining his "Inception" and "The Dark Knight Rises" co-star Cillian Murphy in the show and the first, bearded pics of Hardy's appearance in the series have arrived.

So much television, so little time. One show I've been meaning to catch up with is BBC's "Peaky Blinders," the gangster drama set in the days after World War I that follows the deeds of the dangerous kingpin Tommy Shelby, played by none other than Cillian Murphy. That's right, Cillian Murphy is leading a TV show and I'm somehow not watching it. Well, it looks like some fresh incentive has arrived for everyone to start catching up.

Severely underutilized in recent film such as "In Time" and "Tron: Legacy," though he had a more prominent role in the the thriller "Red Lights" which no one saw, Irish thesp Cillian Murphy is headed to the small screen for a leading role, teaming with "Eastern Promises" and "Dirty Pretty Things" scribe Steven Knight and BBC2 for the six-part period gangster drama "Peaky Blinders" (Memo to BBC: you might want to change that godawful title).
