Shiver me timbers! It's the first trailer for "Pirates Of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides"! And that's about as fake enthused as we're going to get about this now dead franchise which inexplicably continues to rake in mad cash.

OK, so Johnny Depp's spy movie thing "The Tourist" is kind of a disaster, but he'll still be able to sleep tonight on the bed of money he's making from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. With the fourth installment hitting next spring and another two reportedly in the works, he would never have to work on any other film if he didn't really want to. Anyway, some fresh images from "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" have arrived in advance of the trailer which will hit Monday, and they should take a bit of the sting out if you were unfortunate enough to catch an early screening of "The Tourist."

And They Still Probably Won't Make Any SenseBloated and water-logged, we're kind of done with "The Pirates Of Caribbean" franchise as we can't say we really care about or are particularly looking forward to "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". Yes, the first film was a kind of enjoyable romp but each successive film has gotten longer and more convoluted to the point where we just don't care to try and keep up. Not to mention that the appeal of Jack Sparrow has kind of worn off on us. But we're clearly in the minority; the series is a huge success, with the franchise taking in over $2 billion to date and that's not even counting the endless merchandising and other tie-ins. So of course, Disney wants to keep that money train rolling.

The Playlist's Second Weirdest Sexual Fantasy Fulfilled The fourth film in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, the Rob Marshall-helmed "On Stranger Tides," is about six months away from release, and has virtually, but not quite, wrapped. But that doesn't mean that it's above adding another high-profile cast member, albeit in a tiny role.

Studio Eventually Clues Into Fact That You Don't Need New Book To Learn That Richards Was A Willful Drug AbuserA minor brouhaha arose a couple of days ago when it was suggested that aging, still-alive rocker Keith Richards might be getting snipped from the forthcoming "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" due to "Life," the warts and all memoir by the axe-slinger hitting bookshelves this week. The book had Richards talking quite candidly about his past drug use and the rumors went that Disney brass were suddenly not comfortable with putting his worn and ragged mug in front of impressionable school children.

Shocker: He Used To Use DrugsWe think this rumor is most likely a pile of horseshit, but with Hollywood not playing very friendly lately with celebs who do bad things (unless your name is Charlie Sheen it seems) we suppose there could be some truth to it.
