Just before Christmas, Pixar story artist Floyd Numan hit Twitter and revealed a pretty crucial detail regarding the new "Toy Story" short that will play in front of "Cars 2" saying, "Saw the Pixar Hawaii short. Cute,” later adding, “Ken and Barbie want to go to Hawaii. I don’t know what it’s gonna be attached to. Fun stuff, however.” Well, thanks to publishers Random House, the cat has been let out of the bag.

For those of you too young to remember, "mail" is something that people used to take time to write on real paper. They would then place it inside an envelope, go outside (hard to believe, we know) and place it in a steel, blue box and in a matter of days or weeks (depending on where it was going) it would arrive at the home of the person you sent it to. Really. That's how people used to communicate. But now with email and texting the mail service has largely been reduced to delivering Victoria's Secret magazines, Amazon orders and those Publisher's Clearing House contests.

On the one hand, Pixar is easily the best animation studio currently running in Hollywood but on the other hand, we can barely muster fake enthusiasm for "Cars 2," the souped up sequel to the 2006 (merchandising) hit. However, when "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich announced last summer that "Toy Story" characters would continue to live in a series of shorts with the first one landing in front of "Cars 2," suddenly we had a reason to be somewhat excited for the forthcoming sequel. Now, story artist Floyd Numan has stoked those flames of anticipation slightly revealing on Twitter that he has seen the new short, and while he doesn't seem to be aware of where it will land, it's a pretty safe bet this will be the one unspooling next summer.
