With this year's Oscar season already rolling, Warner Bros. have revealed one more movie they're hoping can bring the gold. The Clint Eastwood directed, Bradley Cooper starring "American Sniper" has now been slated for a Christmas Day limited release before going wide on January 16, 2015.

The cast of the Netflix series of Marvel's "Daredevil" is beginning to take shape and it ... looks like the cast of a TV show. Which isn't a bad thing at all, just an observation, and at least with more recognizable names than whoever those people are on "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Paddington
It always seemed a bit like an odd fit when Colin Firth signed up to voice the beloved bear "Paddington," and it seems he finally realized too, dropping out of the project, which already has a November 28th release date and has released a couple of trailers. But at least as far as PR goes, everyone is totes cool with it.

Edgar Ramirez, Point Break
Personally, I have zero interest or nostalgia for “Point Break” or the remake, but the remake just got a serious upgrade. In the lead role was Gerard Butler, until he dropped out recently and but he's now been replaced with Edgar Ramirez. The Venezuelan actor is far from a well-known actor, but he killed it as Carlos The Jackal in Oliver Assayas' three-part "Carlos" epic in 2010 and was strong in "The Bourne Ultimatum," Steven Soderbergh's "Che" and "Zero Dark Thirty."

Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots, Blunderer
It’s a casting-o-rama Friday. With Cannes around the corner and the entire industry getting together for their quarterly wheeling and dealing, it means a lot of pacts are being made. Perhaps the most interesting is the adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel ‘The Blunderer.” She is obviously the writer of the Talented Mr. Ripley series and this non-Ripley-centered psychological thriller will star Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Toby Jones and Imogen Poots. Andy Goddard will direct.

Channing Tatum
Go ahead and insert your own joke about Gerard Butler pointing a gun to the sky and screaming "Noooooooooooo!" But yes, the actor has dropped out of the "Point Break" remake that takes Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 classic and sets it in the world of extreme sports for some reason. So what's the deal?

Point Break Ray Winstone
"I've been lucky to work on a lot of films that I consider good scripts, me personally. I've also worked on films that I've had to do because I've had to pay the rent," Ray Winstone recently told The Belfast Telegraph. "But that's part of the game and then you work on them and try and make them better films, with help from the director and the people you're working with. But it doesn't always work out that way." So we'll see where his next gig ends up on his list: paying rent or good script.

Actress Lily Collins spent much of last year stuck in franchise panic, as planned heavyweight “The Mortal Instruments” weathered delays and production halts following the first installment’s poor critical and box office reception. Her long-term duty to Cassandra Clare’s series remains uncertain, but for now she’s signed on to another adaptation: “How To Be Single," based on Liz Tuccillo’s novel, written for the screen by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, and produced by Drew Barrymore.

Zoe Saldana
After their live rendition of “The Sound of Music” proved to be a ratings hit last month, NBC hopes their next remake of a classic ‘60s Hollywood film can be just as successful. The network first announced a “Rosemary’s Baby” remake last July, but we hadn’t heard much about it until Agnieszka Holland (“Europa, Europa”) signed on as director a few weeks ago. Now, it seems they have found their Rosemary, and luckily, it’s not Carrie Underwood.
