While David O. Russell's upcoming movie with Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams is in the early lead for cast of the year for 2013, "Prisoners" ain't looking too shabby either. With Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Melissa Leo already on board, the long brewing movie has added another very talented name to the ensemble.

So has Jake Gyllenhaal found his Martin Scorsese? Whatever is happening between him and French Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve ("Incendies") seems to be working as after spening the summer with him shooting "An Enemy," he's going to take a role in the director's next film, which is now picking up speed.

We have to admit, given how long this movie has been kicking around in development, we've been wary of any news. Indeed, the last we heard anything about the movie was in the spring when Hugh Jackman -- who was originally attached over two years ago when Antoine Fuqua was going to direct  -- came back on board, with "Incendies" helmer Denis Villeneuve behind the camara with promises of a November 2013 release. And then nothing. But it looks like the wheels are in motion as another talent has come on board.

Over two years ago, a very early incarnation of the long, long developing Black List script "Prisoners" was put on hold. At the time Hugh Jackman was circling the lead, but wasn't quite locked down, with Antoine Fuqua set to direct, but it didn't come pass. And while a few more stars and directors came and went in the years since, the project is one that seems to have been lodged in Jackman's memory as he's now back to star.

However, Can This Once-Hot Project Bag The Rising Star? While names like Tom Hardy, Andrew Garfield, James McAvoy, Garrett Hedlund and Chris Pine are ostensibly the five biggest rising and most-wanted leading males in Hollywood, arguably no actor is more desirable in Tinseltown right now in than Irish/German actor Michael Fassbender. In the two and half years since 2009's "Hunger" put him on the map as an acting force to be reckoned with, the thespian has found himself in the utmost demand and has already worked with some of the most top-shelf and interesting directors out there, including Ridley Scott ("Prometheus"), Steven Soderbergh ("Haywire"), Matthew Vaughn ("X-Men: First Class"), British helmer Steve McQueen again (the follow-up to "Hunger," titled "Shame"), David Cronenberg ("A Dangerous Method") and Quentin Tarantino ("Inglourious Bastards"). In the works are collaborations with Jim Jarmusch (an untitled vampire film opposite Mia Wasikowska and Tilda Swinton) and actor Brendan Gleeson's directorial debut, "At Swim-Two-Birds" with Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy.
