Kevin Bacon must be getting a thrill these days out of playing the baddie. We're only halfway through the year he's been on screen in three straight films where he's the villain: he was the drug dealing Jacques in "Super"; the twisted Sebastian Shaw in "X-Men: First Class" and the wife-stealing co-worker of Julianne Moore in this weekend's "Crazy, Stupid, Love." Well, people must like what they've been seeing because he's ready to make things difficult for the heroes in the forthcoming "R.I.P.D."

After many years of worthy, middlebrow would-be-Oscar pictures and my-daughter-is-in-peril films, it finally seems like Jodie Foster is ready to have fun again. Playing a character described as "a magnificent c**t" in Spike Lee's "Inside Man" seems to have loosened the Oscar-winning actress up a bit, with subsequent roles including kids' flick "Nim's Island," voicing Maggie Simpson, and trading barbs in Roman Polanski's upcoming "Carnage."

'A Good Old Fashioned Orgy' Will Take Up Your Labor DayThat's right folks, with the 2012 calendar already filling up, studios are now beginning to look two years down the road at 2013 and start planting their tentpole flags. Earlier today, it was reported that Jeff Bridges was being courted for a role in Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris' upcoming film "He Loves Me." When we wrote the piece we figured Bridges' summer was free and there wasn't much in the way of a conflict with anything except perhaps promotional duties on his new album. Needless to say, we should've had our second cup of coffee as we totally forgot that last month, the actor entered negotiations to star opposite Ryan Reynolds in "R.I.P.D." after the long attached Zack Galifianakis bowed out.

With Zach Galifianakis unable to commit to the uncertain schedule of Ryan Reynolds for "R.I.P.D.," a replacement seems to have been found and it's a pretty big switch up.

What happens when you become hot in Hollywood is that you're able to attach yourself to a lot of projects, firstly to give yourself more options, and secondly because the material that gets sent your way tends to get better as your fame meter rises. But timing, schedules and other factors mean that sometimes a project gets stalled or doesn't get made, or simply, there's no time to do it.

So, does this mean Ryan Reynolds won't be starring in "Deadpool"? Let's back up for a second. Comedian Zach Galifianakis is in talks to join Reynolds in "R.I.P.D.," an adaptation of the Dark Horse comic book about a pair of deceased detectives, one a recently murdered cop, the other a gunslinger from the Old West. Robert Schwentke ("Red," "The Time Traveler's Wife," "Flightplan") has been attached to direct since last fall.
