Already compared to "Unforgiven," talk of "Rambo V" has popped up here and there over the past while. It has been six years since Sylvester Stallone was back in the role of John Rambo in the appropriately titled, "Rambo," but now he wants to finish of the series, with an arty finale.

The idea of a "Rambo" video game doesn’t sound too terrible. In fact there have been a couple in the past that weren’t outright god-awful. With the influx of popular of shooters like “Call of Duty” over the years, it’s a shock that a game publisher hasn’t made an earnest attempt to bring the classic Sylvester Stallone series to modern game consoles. Well now that’s about to change, but the results are a little questionable.

Sylvester Stallone has managed to seize another role as a mercenary: he is set to star in an animated web series called "Soul Survivor." For now, the only information on the project is that the protagonist -- played by Stallone -- is a “last-of-his kind mercenary”, whatever that means.

The "Rambo 5" rumors have been flying around for a while now. Last we heard, writer Sean Hood had said, "[Sylvester Stallone] hasn’t decided if R5 will be an 'Unforgiven' or a 'passing of the torch.' " Well, it looks like he's made a decision.

Even though David Morrell was the original author of "First Blood," star Sylvester Stallone has co-opted the popular character of John Rambo to the point where 2008's "Rambo," co-written and directed by Stallone, was near-autobiographical. Retiring the violent soldier hero made sense, as Stallone is now 65 years old. But legally speaking, the onscreen John Rambo doesn't belong to Morrell or Stallone, but rather Lionsgate, who released the last 'Rambo' film to a $113 million worldwide gross. In other words, a new 'Rambo' movie will happen with or without Stallone.

"It's pretty well done; I'm about 99% sure there won't be any more. I'm very happy with the last Burmese episode, and another film might be misinterpreted as an unnecessary and mercenary gesture. I don't want that to happen," Sylvester Stallone told Empire last spring, but that was before the mega success of "The Expendables." With that film proving there was an audience who wanted to see the 65 year old blow stuff up, it seems that Sly has changed his mind about playing John Rambo one more time.
