It's Friday, and we've finally shaken off the contact high we got from James Franco at the Oscars. We had to snag some uppers from Anne Hathaway just to get through the week (somehow the footage of her rehearsing the Jessie Spano "I'm so Excited" scene has yet to hit the web). Has everyone recovered from that annual weird-fest? It's like they try and make it more bizarre every year. But it's our tradition, and we have to keep watching. Thank you all for reading the liveblog, and commenting. We woke up to anxiety dreams that after the regular Oscars, there was another, completely different Oscars to liveblog. Not that we don't love it, we just get sleepy is all (wine is advised for extra viewing pleasure). But it's a new week, so let's hop right back on that horse, shall we?!

Review: 'Rango' Is A Sweetly Surreal Animated Western

It's strange to think that Gore Verbinski, an accomplished visual stylist who began in commercials (he was responsible for those "Bud-weis-er" talking bullfrog ads), would want to follow up the daunting and problem-plagued back-to-back shoots of the two latter 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies with an animated film. Not only are animated films notoriously time-consuming and hard to crack, but this would be his first fully animated film and the debut feature film from Industrial Light & Magic, George Lucas' wizardly visual effects house. And this was supposed to be his "small" movie.

Additional Superbowl Ads From 'Drive Angry 3D,' 'Rango,' 'Kung Fu Panda 2,' 'Rio,' Limitless,' 'Just Go With It' & Many, Many MoreApparently there's this thing called the Superbowl on TV. This writer doesn't even have the TV on, but gotta say, watching Twitter watch the Superbowl ads is pretty amusing. There will be spots from 2011 movies popping up during the show all night. Below are some of the latest that have aired, including, "Battle: Los Angeles," "Fast Five," and "Priest," plus other spots released earlier in the week. The best one so far of all these, is by far, Jonathan Liebesman's alien invasion picture starring Aaron Eckhart. Trailers below.

'Kung Fu Panda 2' Spot Lands TooAfter a truly golden few years for animation, 2011 is looking a little fallow. There's the usual mix of uninspiring also-rans, with the likes of "Gnomeo and Juliet," "Mars Needs Moms" and "Rio" all hitting in the next few months, but even the big dogs seem to have decided not to really bother this time around, with Pixar, Dreamworks and Warner Bros all turning out sequels to less-than-beloved originals in the form of "Cars 2," "Kung Fu Panda 2," "Puss In Boots" and "Happy Feet 2." We're moderately hopeful about Aardman's latest, "Arthur Christmas," and Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin," but for the most part, the embarrassment of riches that animation fans have been treated to in the last few years seems to have dried up.

We're pretty sure that this one will require at least one viewing under the influence of certain herbs and plants, but the full length trailer for Paramount's "Rango" has arrived and it looks like a total mindfuck. In a good way.
