DreamWorks Animation is hard at work filling out the voice casts for two of its upcoming animated features with big name stars joining the ranks of both "B.O.O. (Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations)" and "Penguins of Madagascar." In two separate scoops, The Wrap reports that Matt Bomer and Rashida Jones will join Seth Rogen and Melissa McCarthy in 'B.O.O.' while John Malkovich and Benedict Cumberbatch will become part of "Penguins of Madagascar," an offshoot of the bizarrely popular "Madagascar" franchise. DreamWorks Animation has always had a history of casting insanely popular, of-the-moment stars in its animated features, and these decisions seem to reinforce that.

Even though the film received respectful, rather than rave, reviews on its Sundance bow (our own review was one of the more positive), you can't cast Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones, Steve Coogan, Hugh Dancy, T.J. Miller, Adam Scott and Kathryn Hahn in a comedy together without leaving us begging to see the finished film, and that's why we've been firmly looking forward to "Our Idiot Brother" all year long.

The cast members of "The Lord of the Rings" have had mixed success in the eight years since the franchise wrapped up. Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom became fully-fledged movie stars (the latter less so in recent years), and Dominic Monaghan managed surprising longevity as a star of "Lost," but Sean Astin's mostly been stuck in Adam Sandler movies and one-off TV appearances, while we're pretty sure that Billy Boyd washed our windshield at a traffic light not so long ago.

Rashida Jones' rise in the comedy world after debuting on "The Office" a few years ago is definitely commendable. The daughter of music legend Quincy Jones (we're sure she loves hearing that) is a regular on NBC's "Parks And Recreation," has already starred in "I Love You, Man" and will soon be seen in "My Idiot Brother," "The Big Year" and "The Muppets." Jones starred recently in Dana Adam Shapiro's Brooklyn-based relationship drama "Monogamy" and will soon make her writing debut with "Celeste And Jesse Forever" which will see her star along side Andy Samberg.

'The Vicious Kind' Director Lee Toland Krieger At The HelmPresumably, Rashida Jones has some kind of flaw. You can't be bitten by Michael Jackson's pet monkey Bubbles as a child (as she was) and come out completely unscathed. But she certainly doesn't seem to demonstrate any: the Harvard-educated daughter of legendary music producer Quincy Jones has made it entirely on her own steam, thanks to being traffic-stoppingly beautiful and immensely talented, both comedically (recent episodes of the spectacularly good "Parks and Recreation," on which she's a regular, have seen her stretch her comic wings) and dramatically (see "Monogamy," where she's infinitely better than the film, or "The Social Network"). Sidenote, to Zack Snyder: she's also the best possible choice to play Lois Lane, and you should hire her right now.

Directed by Oscar nominee Dana Adam Shapiro ("Murderball"), the indie drama "Monogamy" slowly made its way to a few festivals last year, picking up positive notices along the way.

Sundance '11 Review: 'My Idiot Brother' Is Apatovian, Pleasureable & A Real Surprise

From our reviews correspondent over at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, James Rocchi.“My Idiot Brother,” directed by Jesse Peretz, is in many ways a hard film to rationalize here at the Sundance film festival. It is a glossy comedy, albeit with a thin layer of surface grime provided by harsh language, brief nudity and other mature circumstances to take a bit of the gleam off. It is about as “independent” as a premature infant on a respirator. It does not introduce new faces and talents, nor does it show us talents we know doing something different. Instead, “My Idiot Brother” assembles a comedy dream team for a story of family and forgiveness, shows us people trying to be good, trying to be more than themselves, and has amazing comedy bits ranging from huge sight gags and ba-doomp-boomp! punchlines, to razor-sharp sentences that boomerang back after they’ve whizzed by and silent expressions that convey volumes. It is a clear heir to the Apatovian comedy trend of emotional journeys along roads pocked with potty-talk potholes, and yet it also has as much heart as, if not more than, the best of Apatow’s work. It may be slender, but it is also a sheer delight.

We were already pretty excited when it was revealed that the mysterious Adam Yaunch directed short, "Fight For Your Right Revisted" had a cast that included Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black. But if IMDB is accurate, that's just the tip of the iceberg in regards to which stars will be popping their heads on screen for the forthcoming short.
