Update: Well that was fast. Deadline reports Liam Neeson and Luc Besson have made nice and the actor is closing a deal to reprise his role.

'Hugo Cabret' To Cost More Than 'Inception'?For better or worse, it could be argued that Martin Scorsese's been operating within his comfort zone in recent years: "The Departed" and the HBO pilot "Boardwalk Empire," while both terrific, were both within the gangster genre that Scorsese's always been most at home in, and the divisive psychological thriller "Shutter Island" wasn't too far off either. But the director's next film, the book adaptation "Hugo Cabret," marks a real stretch for the filmmaker -- not only is it his first family film, but it's also his first to be shot in 3D.

Once More Unto The Breach, Dear Friends... Shakespeare and science fiction aren't necessarily the most obvious mix, but as proven by the 50s classic "Forbidden Planet" (and to a lesser extent, Godard's post-apocalyptic "King Lear," which refers to the play more than it adapts it), it can work, and it sounds like someone else is making an attempt at giving a fantastical twist to a classic play.

Most Obvious Use Of "London Calling" EverSet to hit UK cinemas in four weeks, it's about time that a trailer for writer William Monahan's directorial debut "London Boulevard" hit, but upon viewing, it's easy to see why rumblings on this one were not positive and it explains the film's absence from any festival runs this year.
