Winner of the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize in 2012, and traveling around the globe landing in Karlovy Vary, Leeds, Tokyo, São Paulo, Göteborg, Rotterdam and more, Matteo Garrone's "Reality" certainly made some waves on the circuit last year. But if you missed the movie when it landed in arthouse theaters this spring, not to worry, as we've got a pretty nice prize pack for those looking to check out the latest from the director of "Gomorrah," or for those who are already fans of the flick.

There's a certain sense of heightened and/or alternate reality pervading the theater releases this weekend. On the one hand, we have a film about magicians, professionals who create the illusion of having manipulated real world physics; plus, it takes place in Vegas, a city that, unto and of itself, is an entirely other universe. In the other corner is Harmony Korine's new picture, an exploitation flick where the Wizard of Oz leads the starlets of "High School Musical" in a coke-fueled game of Russian Roulette. And then, somewhere in the middle, "Little Miss Sunshine" gets kidnapped by a gasoline-hose-wielding sociopath.

The relationship between audiences and reality television has shifted to some degree over the past decade (or longer). Where early shows were once positioned as voyeuristic/documentary style looks at Real People, it quickly became clear to those in front of the camera, behind it and at home watching, that reality television is just a different kind of performance. While these programs are ones ostensibly rooted in Real Life, the people selected for these shows -- as well as the writers, producers and directors -- have become increasingly aware of the audience, playing directly to them. Simply put, most people know reality television is actually not that real at all, but in case you forgot, Matteo Garrone's "Reality" is here to remind you.

"Reality" filmmaker Matteo Garrone's follow-up to the 2008 critically acclaimed crime drama "Gomorrah," hits the Angelika theater in New York City tomorrow, March 15th. Centering on a man who becomes obsessed with starring on "Big Brother," to the point of driving himself into isolation and detaching himself from, well, reality, the film stars Claudia Gerini, Aniello Arena and Loredana Simioli. "Reality" premiered at last year's Cannes International Film Festival before finding distribution with Oscilloscope Laboratories.

When Matteo Garrone burst onto the international scene with the 2008 critically-acclaimed crime drama “Gomorrah,” few would have guessed that his follow-up would revolve around the reality TV show “Big Brother,” but that’s exactly what the Italian director did with “Reality.” And after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival last spring, Oscilloscope Laboratories has released a brand new trailer for the film as it gears up to finally hit theaters.
