The Legend Of Hercules
Last year, a pair of movies involving the White House being taken over by terrorists was released into theaters nationwide; one was a fairly cheap B-movie while the other was a sturdier, mainstream affair. This year, we're getting two movies about Hercules, the mythological strongman who was the son of a god and a mortal woman. As always, the cheap one is opening first, as to not position itself as a quickie knockoff. And while there's a very big chance that "Hercules: The Thracian Wars," out this summer, could be a major bummer, it's hard to imagine anything being worse than this week's repellant 3D wasteland "The Legend of Hercules," a movie so ugly and woeful that you'll wish you had superhuman strength to pluck your own eyeballs out of your head.

It’s been quite a journey for Finnish filmmaker Renny Harlin. Once the director of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master ” (the highest-grossing entry in the series at the time) he moved on to the back-to-back onslaught of “The Adventures Of Ford Farlaine” and “Die Hard 2: Die Harder” that cemented him as one of Hollywood’s top action directors, a designation he carried all the way to the snakebitten “Cutthroat Island,” one of the biggest bombs in box office history.
