Casey Affleck No Longer Part Of ProjectThis news will eventually illustrate some diversity (hang tight). During the junket for "Little Fockers" we asked director Paul Weitz if he was still intending on making "Another Bullshit Night In Suck City," a project announced in 2009 that would star Casey Affleck and Robert De Niro. All he basically said was, “I am still hoping to do that and I’m hoping to do it with Bob so it’s still something that I’m working on, it’s a terrific memoir.”

By most accounts, last year's Cannes Film Festival was one of the worst in years. The lineup was fairly tepid, and overall, there was a considerable lack of buzz on the Croisette. From most colleagues we talked to at the fest, it was widely regarded as one of poorer showings in quite some time. Well, if 2010 was a disappointment, 2011 is gearing up to be one helluva show. Robert De Niro has just been announced as the President of the Jury for the 64th Cannes Film Festival. Nice.

Jessica Alba Denies Screenwriters Diss Comments, Ben Stiller Talks 'Zoolander 2,' & MoreFamily patriarch Jack Byrnes wants to appoint a successor. Does his son-in-law, the "male nurse," Greg Focker have what it takes? Yup, it's "Little Fockers," the third film in the "Meet The Parents" trilogy. This time, director Jay Roach sat back as a producer and Paul Weitz ("American Pie," "About a Boy") took over the filmmaking reigns. All the old gang returned: Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Barbra Streisand, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo plus some new additions in Jessica Alba, Laura Dern, and Harvey Keitel. And yes, Owen Wilson reprised his role from the first film.

Review: 'Little Fockers' Is That Lump of Coal You (Apparently) Asked For

A blatant cash grab from studio logos to closing credits, “Little Fockers” takes the money-making formula of "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers" and adds adorable kids, Jessica Alba, and glorified cameos from Harvey Keitel and Laura Dern into the mix. Families will flock to the holiday release with gusto, but it’s up for debate whether 100 minutes with the Focker and Byrnes families is worse than quality time with your own dysfunctional clan. Sure, there are a few laughs, but we’re not talking minor discomfort on the level with your aunt having spinach casserole stuck in her teeth and blithely smiling for the camera. “Little Fockers” is roughly as pleasant as enduring a rum-and-whiskey-fueled shouting match over the merits of the healthcare bill.

We'll give the trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thriller "Limitless" this much -- it nails the depiction of the freelance writer as a scraggly, sloppy mess pretty accurately. Or maybe this writer has said too much about himself already.

Formerly known as "I Heard You Paint Houses" -- and retitled "The Irishman" -- this potential Martin Scorsese vehicle has been in the works for a while, but recently it seems to have picked up steam. Back in September it was reported that the "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas" and "Casino" duo of Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci were joining the project and it now seems it might happen a lot sooner than we thought.

Actor Confirms That Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci Are In Talks, Will Play His Father & Uncle If you'd told us at the beginning of the year that 2010 would see David O. Russell sign on to an adaptation of the Playstation videogame "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," we'd have nodded politely, and then dismissed everything you had to say after that. But rumors emerged in the summer that Russell, fresh off his comeback film "The Fighter," was circling the project, and he finally signed on last month. Not long after, another crazy rumor surfaced -- that Russell had moved the globetrotting adventure, at least in part, to the world of New York antiques, and that he was seeking Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to star in the film.
