So, when is a little indie project not really a little indie project? When it features mega-star Robert Downey Jr. And while it might not boast explosions or CGI, Jon Favreau's next film just got a high wattage actor on board.

While she may be best known for her role in the successful ABC sitcom “Modern Family,” it appears Sofia Vergara’s looking to make her mark on the big screen as well. Yesterday we saw her featured in this character one sheet for Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills” and if you thought that was enough, now she will be joining Jason Statham in “Heat,” a remake of the 1986 Burt Reynolds-lead film.

Well, if there's one thing Robert Rodriguez's "Machete" movies are not, it's subtle. Wearing their sex and violence bonafides like a badge of honor, "Machete Kills" looks like it's going to raise the stakes on babes and bullets and if you need proof, look no further than this latest character poster to hit the web.

While we have to warn you that it's pretty much instantly annoying, if you want to see any footage from the currently filming "Machete Kills," you'll have to click play below.

Aside from only a small role in "Hannah & Her Sisters," it's actually a bit surprising that John Turturro never starred in a Woody Allen movie. He seems like the perfect, neurotic Allen surrogate but alas it has never come to pass. The pair also crossed paths nearly 15 years later in the little seen comedy "Company Men," where Allen had a cameo role. Now, more than a decade on from that, the duo are set to share another film set, although this time, in a much larger capacity.

Plus New Photos Of Sarah Jessica Parker, Lea Michele & Sofia Vergara In 'New Year's Eve'We suppose she wasn't meant to be glamorous or pretty in this picture. WB has released a first look photo of Naomi Watts in Clint Eastwood's biopic "J. Edgar" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and the actress looks positively dowdy and frumpy. That's by design. She's playing Helen Gandy, a Justice Department file clerk who ended up being Hoover’s personal secretary. Not the sexiest role in the film, though in one version of Dustin Lance Black's screenplay, if we recall correctly, there is one brief sequence where she and Hoover attempt to go out on a date, which doesn't really work out. Following Hoover's death in 1972, Gandy spent weeks destroying his personal file, thought to be where the most incriminating material he used to manipulate and control the most powerful figures in Washington was kept, though we're pretty sure Eastwood's drama won't extend that far into his history.

It has now been two full years since Lee Daniels premiered "Precious" at Sundance where it quickly became the film sensation of 2009, coming into the Oscars with six nominations and walking away with two wins for Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay. Since then, Daniels has attached himself to a lot of movies -- "Anna In The Tropics," "Nights of Cabiria," "The Scottsboro Boys," and most notably "Selma" (which fell apart) -- without any managing to get in front of cameras. Now, another gestating film, "The Paperboy," has lost one of its lead actresses.

'Modern Family' Star Sofia Vergara Confirmed For CastLee Daniels hasn't quite had Hollywood bowing before him in the same way that some directors do after picking up an Oscar nomination -- in his case, for "Precious." It's not that the director hasn't gotten involved in projects -- he's attached to no fewer than five, and two, the civil rights drama "Selma," and the White House-set tale "The Butler," were close to happening, with A-listers like Hugh Jackman and Denzel Washington attached. But the films never quite got going, for one reason or another, and Daniels is yet to make his follow-up to the film that made his name.

You know how there was once talk of a "Watchmen" movie with names like Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Hilary Swank and John Cusack, and then we ended up with a "Watchmen" movie with Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Malin Akerman and Patrick Wilson? The Farrelly Brothers' new version of "The Three Stooges" seems to have undergone a similar downsizing. Initially announced with A-listers Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Jim Carrey attached (with names like Russell Crowe also linked at various stages), the film is finally happening, but with a cast mostly made up of supporting players from mid-level sitcoms.
