The Canyons, trailer, Lohan
While Steven Soderbergh’s assertion that “The Canyons” has “a spectacular sex scene” has been one of many tantalizing teases for the movie, audiences clamoring to see Lindsay Lohan in the Paul Schrader-directed, Brett Easton Ellis-penned film waiting to see for themselves how it all turns out. The film has been greeted by all kinds of mini-scandals and buzz, and it's been something the trailers and photos are hoping to capitalize off of, and audiences are only a couple weeks away from seeing the finished product.

The World's End' set
Get ready folks, "The World's End" is near. Before you grab for your pitchfork and rosary, we're not talking about the actual end of the world, but the final film of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. In "Shaun of the Dead," they tackled zombies by way of slacker comedy. In "Hot Fuzz," they took on the buddy cop genre with a hint of countryside cult conspiracy. This time around in "The World's End," it looks like they've reworked the nostalgic reunion movie to include a sloppy pub crawl, some space invaders and a rocking soundtrack. It's one of the most highly anticipated films of the summer, even in a crowd of apocalypse movies. Across the pond, reviews have begun to ebb out in anticipation of its U.K. premiere on July 19th and thankfully, they're mostly positive, one of our favorites being from The Times -- "While achieving Olympic levels of stupidity, The World's End is a movie which leaves you grinning from ear to ear, or possibly from beer to beer." Not-so-luckily, we still have over a month until the film hits stateside.

Stuck In Love Logan Lerman
Okay, we slept on this a bit, and given that soundtracks are sometimes our thing, we apologize for that, but with "Stuck In Love" in coming into theaters this Friday, it's better late than never, right? For you Conor Oberst and co. fans out there, this might also be a reminder that they've got some new material out there.

Arrested Development, Netflix
The fourth season of “Arrested Development” brought a number of alterations to the much-anticipated series: the fractured narrative, its single-character episodes, the ramped-up narration by Ron Howard. Even the show's music felt different -- its upbeat swing score higher in the mix and more noticeable in its presence. However, the mid-season pop gem, “Getaway” was a hilarious season highlight, and now the song, alongside the Bluth family's past musical output, is gearing up for release.

Inside Llewyn Davis
If there is any movie that walked out of the Cannes Film Festival this year as the most beloved I-can't-wait-to-see-it-again, crowd pleaser, it was the Coen Brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis." The tale of a week in the life of one young folk singer just trying to make it, keep his head above water and dignity intact, is a beautifully melancholy love letter not just to the '60s folks music scene, but for anyone anywhere struggling along with whatever artistic endeavour simply because it's the only thing they believe in. Needless to say, the movie is a great soundtrack, and the details have arrived early about what you'll be able to get your hands on in just a few months.

Only God Forgives Ryan Gosling
In just a few weeks, you'll finally see the result of Ryan Gosling asking, "Wanna fight?" in "Only God Forgives." As you might guess, it's violent, ugly, brutal and vicious stuff...but it's quite beautiful too. Yes, that's due to Nicolas Winding Refn's almost obscene skill behind the camera -- there is barely a frame out of place -- but also due to the score by Cliff Martinez. Just like in his previously collaboration with the director on "Drive," it's integral to establishing the mood and tone of the film and we have an exclusive treat for your ears today from the official soundtrack.
