Embargos vs. international screenings...a publicist's nightmare to be sure, but such is the age we live that even though we're still weeks away from even glimpsing "Star Trek Into Darkness" statside, it has premiered in Australia and the first reviews are out and they are mostly positive.

Ooh, looks like "Star Trek Into Darkness" is getting into some ethical and moral quandaries with the sequel, as the first clip from the movie features J.J. Abrams' never still camera, some distractingly skin tight suits, sweat and oh yeah, Spock's life in crucial danger. Trapped down on an alien planet near a volcano that's about to explode, Captain Kirk must grapple with breaking the Prime Directive in order to save his friend. Will he do it or let Spock die? You can probably figure that one out on your own. The clip also serves a quick way to pretty much include every major cast member, even if just for a couple seconds.

It seems we're in the midst of a trend of tentpole villains favoring distinct vocal deliveries. From Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy as Joker and Bane in "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises" respectively, to Javier Bardem's Silva in "Skyfall" to Leonardo DiCaprio's Calvin Candie in "Django Unchained," all added some vocal flair to the lines on the page that made those parts stand out. And now Benedict Cumberbatch will try and do it twice in 2013. He'll be behind Smaug in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," and next month he'll gravely intone Captain Kirk and the crew's death in "Star Trek Into Darkness."

BRAAAM! 10 Trailers That Steal The Inception sound
"What's the most resilient parasite? An idea." Little did Christopher Nolan know when he wrote that line, he’d need to add an addendum: an idea that keeps getting pickpocketed over and over again until it loses meaning and ownership, and becomes simply background noise to the general cultural conversation. It's appropriate, when you think about it, and something that Cobb (and team Nolan) would likely appreciate, that the memory of this ubiquitous sound's origins are slowly fading away. The Hans Zimmer-composed ominous pitched-down “Inception” horn blast, known as “The 'Inception' BRAAAM" (number of 'r's and 'a's may vary) has been resilient indeed, an idea homaged, appropriated and straight-up nicked time and time again since its... wait for it... inception.

Man, London is not having a good year at the movies. Last month, it got wiped out in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and next month, it's gonna get trashed again in "Star Trek Into Darkness." People must have got over their Olympic fever fast....

It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to say this, but we truly are excited to see the latest Michael Bay movie. Swapping enormous machines for enormous muscles, "Pain & Gain" is looking increasingly like Bay has made the action movie equivalent of “Spring Breakers,” with a tiny budget by Bay’s standards and fuelled by the kind of homoeroticism we haven’t seen this side of “Bad Boys 2.” Two new TV spots have dropped for the heist comedy and it looks as over the top and brilliantly unhinged as ever, and hopefully that’s a good thing because it’s release is now only a few weeks away on April 26th.

We're about six weeks away from getting beamed up into whatever J.J. Abrams has put together for "Star Trek Into Darkness" aka "The Movie He's Doing That Isn't Star Wars Episode 7." And of course, plot details are still being kept locked up. All we know is that Benedict Cumberbatch is the bad guy and Alice Eve will appear in her underwear, which for many is reason enough to buy a ticket. But in case you need a little more coaxing, here are a few more pics from the film.
