Sylvester Stallone has managed to seize another role as a mercenary: he is set to star in an animated web series called "Soul Survivor." For now, the only information on the project is that the protagonist -- played by Stallone -- is a “last-of-his kind mercenary”, whatever that means.

Break out the Ben Gay, because Sylvester Stallone is back with "The Expendables 2" and he's raided the action movie old folks home to dust off Arnold Schwarznegger and Chuck Norris and more to join his pals and young blood Liam Hemsworth in the last brawny flick.

If you removed Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger from the equation, the cast lining up for "The Tomb" seems like something that would fit a straight-to-DVD potboiler, instead of a teamup between two aging action icons. Either way, "The Tomb" is gonna be...weird.

Everyone, fanboys or no, appreciates the fact that Sylvester Stallone has his hand on the pulse of his audience. When working on the first installment of "The Expendables", he seemed to cast the picture based on what fans wanted to see, he fired 50 Cent when his casting was met with hostility, and he did heavy duty work in the editing room to make sure the PG-13 he was shooting for became a last-minute R rating. He also made a film that was a massive show of bland fan service, absent of the nuance or savagery that powered "Rocky Balboa" and "Rambo", even refusing to stay true to his title by keeping every single hero alive. Though Stallone's not in the director's chair this time, it looks like he's done it again, flip-flopping on the rating for a film that's already been shot despite previous comments to the contrary.

The "Rambo 5" rumors have been flying around for a while now. Last we heard, writer Sean Hood had said, "[Sylvester Stallone] hasn’t decided if R5 will be an 'Unforgiven' or a 'passing of the torch.' " Well, it looks like he's made a decision.

Update: Well, turns out Walter Hill is still very much at the helm of this one as Sylvester Stallone tells AICN that those rumors are "an egregious lie, I have nothing to do with the editing to BULLET TO THE HEAD.  Walter is doing a FANTASTIC job!  I think it is a FANTASTIC job and he's editing it!" Still no word on why the movie got yanked off the calendar though...

'Rambo 5' Is Apparently Happening, Will Be Either Like 'Unforgiven' Or A "Passing Of The Torch"

Even though David Morrell was the original author of "First Blood," star Sylvester Stallone has co-opted the popular character of John Rambo to the point where 2008's "Rambo," co-written and directed by Stallone, was near-autobiographical. Retiring the violent soldier hero made sense, as Stallone is now 65 years old. But legally speaking, the onscreen John Rambo doesn't belong to Morrell or Stallone, but rather Lionsgate, who released the last 'Rambo' film to a $113 million worldwide gross. In other words, a new 'Rambo' movie will happen with or without Stallone.

Well, the rumors are true. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are going to tag team on another movie, and no, it won't have the word 'Expendables' in it.

"The Expendables 2" is coming, and this time....bring the kids! Yesterday, word started being kicked around that the upcoming beefcake sequel was possibly going to be given a safe and friendly PG-13 rating due to the whims of the sensitive Chuck Norris, who apparently doesn't like cussing. Could it be true? Well, the answer is yes.
