O.J. Simpson The Terminator
How different would the movie industry be today if “The Terminator,” as we know it, didn’t hit theaters three decades ago? Where would Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career have ended up? As the oral history over at EW shows, things could turned out very wrong for James Cameron and his iconic sci-fi film.

James Cameron
Filmmaker James Cameron crossed the $2 billion mark for a second time in 2009: his “Avatar” behemoth also went on to be become the highest grossing film of all time (right behind his “Titanic,” the second highest grossing film of all time, but to be fair it was only around $1.8 billion when it first came out and grew upon re-release). So you might think he’s lost a little momentum with his upcoming “Avatar” sequels, but it’s more likely that Cameron has nothing to prove these days and would rather get it right rather than rush into production (novel thinking in Hollywood these days).

The Terminator
The plans for the sorta-not-quite reboot "Terminator: Genesis" are pretty big. Not only will it potentially spawn a new trilogy, but a new TV series that will tie into the film(s) is also in the works. And let's not forget, the film will feature the son of Miles Dyson, and now it seems it's going to reach all the way back to James Cameron's original 1984 "The Terminator." Spoilers ahead, duh.

James Cameron
So, James Cameron hit the interwebs for a Reddit AMA over the weekend, and he had a lot to say. We've already highlighted his comments about a proposed "Alien 5" and his thoughts on "Prometheus," but that was just the tip of the iceberg (yes, an obvious "Titanic" reference). Cameron had a lot more to say about no small shortage of topics, so let's just dive right in with the good stuff:

Jai Courtney, Kyle Reese, Terminator Genesis
The long national nightmare is finally over. Sort of. After other people like Nicholas Hoult and Garrett Hedlund passed on the part, Jai Courtney has landed the role of Kyle Reese in the "Terminator" reboot aka "Terminator 5" aka "Terminator: Genesis." Hooray. He'll join the returning Ah-nuld, Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke in the Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones," "Thor: The Dark World") directed movie, about which details are being kept under wraps for now.

All hail and bow down to Daenerys Targaryen. While Brie Larson and "The Wolf Of Wall Street" sexpot Margot Robbie were among the actresses vying for the coveted role of Sarah Connor in the new "Terminator" reboot, "Terminator: Genesis," it is "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke who has officially landed the gig.

Even though America said, "No thanks, we'd rather not watch the 'Sarah Connor Chronicles,' " and even though as a franchise, "The Terminator" films stopped being worth watching in 1991, Megan Ellison and Hollywood are convinced that you really want more. So, they've reupped Arnold Schwarznegger to once again lumber around against the laws of physics and everything we know about the human body for a reboot coming in 2015 that will kick off a new trilogy. But it seems that's not all ...
